Am I missing something? How are dogs with no handler beating dogs with handlers? I've noticed this the last few days... Even the BIS winner from today had no handler....

Are you referring to this show? www.showdog.com/shows/show_results.aspx?show=Airblu%2010

If so, it's because the judge likes owner-handled dogs better. www.showdog.com/shows/judge_info.aspx?judge=Rachel+Barnette

The judges now all have different "personality" profiles that you can read on their pages. Some judges like owner handled dogs more- for those judges, using a handler places you lower.

It is on the judges page: www.showdog.com/shows/judge_info.aspx?judge=Donna+Fox

"Actually prefers to see the owner of the dog handling it."
