We do know how much temperament counts. If you go to the SOP calculator, you can see this.
The SOP calculator, and SOP in general, is NOT designed by Jeff, nor is it part of the game. The creator of SOP, who was a player just like us with no special access to the "behind the scenes" numbers, had to come up with their best shot, and so divied it up 50/50.

SOP is a VERY old tool in the game, and we know it is not 100% accurate- and this is part of the reason why.

"General" accounts for SS, Temp, and probably some other unseen traits- since we have no idea what those unseen traits and factors are, we can not accurately weight it.

This is part of why Jeff has always been careful to remind us that SOP is NOT a 100% accurate representation of a dog's quality.

From the help center, and as mentioned above...the SOP calculator is not a completely solid reference for evaluating the quality of a dog...

Telling If A Dog Is Show Quality

Showdog.com · Help center · Telling If A Dog Is Show Quality

The best way to judge a dog is by comparing him or her to other dogs of the same breed that are doing well in shows. Don’t expect the first dog you buy to be of the same quality as a dog that has won multiple BIBs, but you should look for a dog that is the same quality as other dogs that are consistently taking WB/WD.

Many people use calculators designed by themselves or by other users to determine a percentage based on how closely a dog matches his breed standard. These “evaluators” can be very helpful in determining how dogs will do in shows, but these are not based on the actual ShowDog.com judging system. You certainly may use an evaluator for your dogs if you choose to do so. However, you should not use a dog’s percentage as the sole determining factor in whether or not you keep that dog, and you certainly should spend more time looking at the dog’s actual traits when you are choosing animals to breed. Breeding an 85% dog to an 85% bitch is not automatically going to give you 85% puppies, especially if the dogs’ traits are not complimentary.

Did you know?
Since its centenary year in 1991, Crufts has officially been recognised as the world's largest and most prestigious dog show by the Guinness Book of Records, with a total of 22,973 dogs being exhibited that year.
