Its frustrating that I cannot enter a show even days ahead of time because we have a kennel whom is seriously handler hogging. I flat give up. I left for a couple months and come back to the same crap.

Now I know why I left. Its flat out annoying and completely unfair for other players whom HAVE A LIFE. Maybe it's time to find a new breed.

oh crikey! what choices does one make should some aspects of a game frustrate one. in my case i spend a lot of time on another site that has much progression with a lot of satisfaction.

You are in a very popular breed. Maybe you could try Tibetan Terriers or Brussels Griffons? They both get group and show placings, but I'm pretty much the only one breeding/showing them. I have separate kennels in both of these breeds and would be more than happy to get you started if you're interested. wink ;)

The problem isn't simply the handler hogging, it's the fact that this user is breaking the rules by having well over the 30 dog limit. They should not even be able to enter shows.

Is there a certain time of day or day of week that shows are first posted? Or is it random?

They're posted at the time of being made by someone. Unless it's a breed national or the ShowDog World Cup.

EXACTLY. This has been going on since I can remember. This user is going around the rules somehow and making it difficult for everyone else in the breed to get ahead. Yet nothing has ever been done about it.

Why is she allowed special privledge? When I get over the limit, I cannot breed anymore, I cannot show anymore....Please Jeff, do something.

This is STILL a problem!!? I'm not in the breed but that has to be annoying as heck. I thought this was fixed a long time ago. I wish there was someway to petition against this kennel. Not fair to anyone in the breed or in the game at all.

The user you are complaining about doesn't have more than 5 handler assigned entries in any show from this point forward.

What specifically are you upset about?

Jeff,
she has at least five in EVERY SHOW. With handlers.
she is also well over the allowed limit for dogs.
this has been, and continues to be, a problem.
Its not just me complaining, but several others also.

Its frustrating to no end. And attempts to work it out with her have proven to be futile.

Wow - look at the number of dogs and litters due.

And I didn't even peek at entries.

How much more unfair can it get?

I hear ya Four and am shocked this continues...

If this were my breed, I'd be livid!

If anyone else wants to have a look, check out the top breeder in Dobes

Wow is right Kalynda! Not my breed either but that's alot of dogs, I thought there was coding in place to prevent users from breeding and showing when over the limit.

And suddenly they are all gone? Now I am confused. Either Jeff did something or she is onto this post and covering her bases.

I already figured out how she has been able to bend the rules and cheat the system just by observing her. >. <

Having 19 litters on the ground is not against the rules. The rule for litters is that you may not have more than 10 concurrent pregnancies. these appeared to be spaced so that no more than 10 dogs were pregnant at once, making it fine.

The rest with entries and being over the limit is problematic though. I have an idea of how it can be done, and it is cheating and should be stopped.

The thing is, she has had more then 10 planned litters at a time. She did up until last night when they magically disappeared. Just like some of her dogs did.

We have been battling this person tooth and nail for a good solid YEAR now.

I agree the user should not be able to show while over the dog limit - that is unfair and breaking the rules.
But, it is possible that the user has paid for the added kennel space? I don't recall that there are any limit to the number of spaces you are able to add?

As for handler hogging; it may not be nice - but it is not breaking any rules.
There is no limit to the number of dogs I can enter and if I'm willing to pay the excessive handler fee I can use as many handlers as I want.

.......
"Effective April 1st, 2007 an excessive handler usage fee has been put into effect for users who use more than four handlers in a show. The fee is $5 + [amount of entries]. For a better description, see below…

Fee Structure
5 Handlers - $10
6 Handlers - $21 ($10 + $11)
7 Handlers - $33 ($10 + $11 + $12)
10 Handlers - $75 ($10 + $11 + $12 + $13 + $14 + $15)
20 Handlers - $280

The fee is applied per user, per breed, per show."

I believe you can only add five more kennel slots.

Did you know?
A conformation dog show is not a comparison of one dog to another but a comparison of each dog to a judge's mental image of the ideal breed type as outlined in the individual breed's breed standard.
