Video of baby Tess' runs from the weekend!! A great comparison for how easy everything can look with an experienced team (Doodle) vs how completely out of sorts a "green" team can look (Tulies) . I'd like to think my handling isnt terrible here wink ;) , looks much the same I think as when i handle Doodle but take out a familiar dog/seasoned team and replace it with an unknown (completely different dog than her big sister!!) dog/very inexperienced team and this what you can get, or at least Im pretty good at getting these sorts of odd runs. razz :p

But in all honesty Baby Tess just made me so proud this weekend! 1 or 4 possible Qs but so much more confidence than even just last months trial. Shes handling her ring stress much better now, shes happy and wants to go! We finally picked up that last Open JWW Q so next trial we'll be running with the big dogs!! Still waiting on that last Open STD Q though but by no fault of Tulies. I still have so much to work on with Tess, and I dont mean obstacles but rather in our teamwork... trust the baby dog but dont neglect to support her out on course. Build her confidence by working your handling so that she can always easily just be "right" yet try not to get into too much perfectionism in your handling as you want to ask her, not tell her. This is a game, full of fun so let go of some of that criteria (contacts, startlines, etc) and party with the oopsies. Let go of making "perfect" runs, shaving times with efficient turns and lines and just concentrate on making sure Tess is confident about where shes going. I cant tell you just how much I LOVED seeing her almost fly off the other side of her table... she was just so excited to be going that it was almost too much! She flew off her teeter too early on an otherwise qualifying STD run and I cant help but party that shes no longer creeping in order to "meet criteria". She was bouncing on the way to her startline and we had no messes in the ring (nerves) , how much more success can you ask for than that!! So very much a different dog than Doodle but teaching me so much along the way, challenging me as her trainer and the human half of the team. <3

Did you know?
The two largest American dog shows after Westminster are the National Dog Show (which is televised on Thanksgiving Day by NBC, usually after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade) and the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.
