So I was looking at one of my girls offspring to decide if I should FH her or not and I come across this girl with a 9.8 HD...... our breed has been in the 10s ( as in 10.5 , 10.3 ect ) and this random girl gets this.... o.o
www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13394252 I have no clue where it came from... |

Ahh, but think about it . . . there are a lot of 10.2 behind those perfect 10.0's. The 9.8's were maybe balancing off the 10.2 as in +/- .2. |

The perfect 10 is pretty new... I just don't get how it didn't give me a 10.2 instead... Ive just never seen the HDs in the nines |

They've been breeding down towards 10- now they've simply bred down BELOW 10. Not surprising at all. |

How come I never see this in my other breeds that have 10s? |

quoteI see it in my breeds all the time... My guess is, the other breeds 10-range is so tight there is less variation maybe, while this one is still dialing in. The 10's here do not go back very far. Of course, I'd have kept the 9.8 to help pull down some more higher 10's... |

I think we've just over-corrected. I have a 9.8 HD too - have been expecting it! K |

I've overcorrected, also! I think I've had it before, too, but your post reminded me to check in this batch of litters...lol. www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13408810 Em |
