I know a few of us saw the post about breed clubs. How do you all feel about this?

I love the idea and have offered to help set up clubs in breeds that I am part of and that I am not part of.

If these do happen and get going I thought maybe once a week a different club could host a show for their breed, if they feel they would get the entries. Or they could host an all breed if they don't think they will get the entries in a specialty. And if we have an all breed club maybe that club can host a big all breed once a month. The person who hosts would change up every time, as long as members can afford it.

Thoughts? Critiques? Yes/No? Something you guys would want to participate in?

I dont know, I dont really feel like we need a keeshond club. We're already plenty active in the ring and the forum. And frankly, the big problem with the breed clubs will be that the vast majority of breed may have very very few active breeders to begin with.

I thought this thread was our club. laugh :D

In other news, I logged in to find my boy Dream Chaser had finished his championship with a Best of Breed for a 5pt major. Love when that happens.

I also don't feel that we need a club. In my opinion, this thread works great as is - no commitments and anyone can contribute when they have time. I think that a club would just complicate things. I do think that, between us, we should work to sponsor a specialty show each month, but again that's not something that really needs to be organised as it happens anyway.

Those are just my thoughts. The idea itself is great, but we've got something better going already happy :)

We do pretty much have a club...without the commitment which is awesome! I never really thought of it that way!

Thanks for the input!

And congrats on the new CH happy :)

Congrats on the new CH.!
Analeyn - what a lovely boy. Green with envy over here at all of you. wink ;)
I know, I know. I have to pay my dues first but it seems to take so long when getting into a new breed and only having numbers to go by when you breed.
I find myself looking at the darn pics and comparing them to see if they will be a good complement. lol

I can't wait to get my new girls bred! Only 3 more days for the one baby, Gypsy's Daughter. Still trying to find a great stud for her though!

LMAO, I just realized I own two dogs named Dream Chaser. I bought a pretty puppy off Analeyn without looking at the name, and she and I had apparently gone down similar paths with our naming schemes.

EDIT: Spelling lol

I didn't notice that either!

The number of entries we are getting currently is wonderful! Especially those 5pt majors!

Low show shine strikes again! I feel like these would be good stats with a SS of 20!

The first one would have been 94.3% and the second one would would have been 94.6%.

Thank you for that. I dont math. I thought the second looked a bit better though. I was looking at that size and forequarter. I wouldnt have minded him for my breeding program...

No problem. The formula for figuring it out is:

20 - your dogs SS = number/2 = number + your dogs SOP = equals adjusted SOP

Random example:

20-18.3=1.7/2= 0.85+ 93.9= 94.75

Sop calculator, for people like me (hopeless at anything mathematical):

I notice that Keesies have moved up from 24th to 21st on the competition ranking happy :)

Oh good, theres a calculator. I know Skipwall had one years ago. Like I said...I don't math. lol. Ty for the help folks. Im slightly less disapointed now that I know they werent as good as I thought they were, even if I would have used the second for breeding...

Wow!

I have 3 new 95' puppies settled! All sired by GCH Analeyn Interstellar!

95.30!

95.10

95.05

I may be interested in a trade of the last male listed, for a high 94.80+ bitch with the right traits. I am searching for more dogs with strong forequarter/size to help work towards my trait breeding project. If anyone has a bitch that may fit, and are interested, please let me know happy :)

Congrats!! Lovely pups you have Analeyn. And all males!

I thought I got a new Grand Champion last night, all the criteria seem to be ticked - three "yes", but no notification. Am I missing something?

95.40 girl:

Aussie- that is really strange. I know the GCH title is usually delayed by a few hours, but this is over a day right? Might want to message admin. Wonder if this has to do with the delayed results/payouts from the other day.

Did you know?
The sit for exam is a modified version of the Stand for Exam. It is generally used in novice level classes and requires the handler to order the dog to sit and then to move away from the dog the length of the leash. The judge will then approach the dog and pet the dog's head.
