Meh, not a ton of breeding success over here, but the first bunch of new broodies came into heat in the last day or two, so heres hoping.

Is it just me, or does it totally seem like its mostly dogs and many fewer bitches in the ring lately?

I haven't really noticed that - but probably only because I have a lot of upcoming bitches to show happy :)

Not a lot of breeding success. Since getting a 95.40 bitch and 95.55 male 18 days ago, I seem to be stuck around 95.30/.35 SOP, or lower. Did get one bitch at 95.40, but not overly impressed with her size and feet combo.

I agree with Gypsy, there does seem to be fewer bitches showing, maybe most breeders are in my situation. My current show bitches will coming out of the ring as soon as their current shows are done as I badly need new brood bitches, and my three new bitches, due to start showing are not ready yet (owing to a lot of dud litters in between). Not that the new ones are anything outstanding.

How do people evaluate this boy.... I like most of him, but not his head, which makes me think twice about keeping him. Especially as he is only 95.35 SOP.

I haven't had much luck with breeding. I have a couple of broodies coming up, so hopefully my luck will change here soon.

Well, my breeding luck is looking up. Got a 95.60 and a 95.65 tonight!

The first one came from the same broodie who gave me my last (and until tonight only) 95.60.

Congrats on your both your boys Gypsy - very, very nice pups, I especially like the one from Broken Dreams. I have not yet cracked a really good one from him, will have to keep trying.

Sigh!!!! I am well and truly in a rut - I just FH'ed four more complete litters. Just can't crack a really nice pup sad :(

Just hoping my new bitches coming in can produce a nice pup or two, although my luck lately is not promising. All fingers and toes crossed!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Aussie

Yknow, I feel bad over here that there's such a rut. I've decided to share the wealth. Im going to put up the dam who's sired 2 95.60+'s (in 2 different litters, 2 different studs) up for sale if anyone wants to give her a go. May she produce the as well for you as she has for me.

Great idea happy :)

You can be assured that the rut does have an end - I spent a long time in it a while back and was so disheartened, but it has changed and it will for you too happy :)

That's a lovely idea Gypsy, and I am very tempted. But as I think there are breeders in a deeper rut than me *lol*, will see if some of them want to have first crack.

I have just bred some of my recently shown bitches around 95.20 -.30, and hope that they will produce for me.

Although my 95.55 girl has proved a dud so far, she has not even got a pup near her level. Shall keep trying to find the right stud.

Well I hope someone grabs her. She just dropped a litter yesterday, if no one claims her by the time she comes into heat again, I'll keep breeding her myself. So 5 days happy :).

I grabbed her! I'm not getting much above 95.1 at the most so I'll give her a go!

Put up 2 new pups for sale. Their SOP is only kind of meh, but they got that sweet 9.5 TNB's, in case anyone wants to bring some of that into their lines.

I like this boy, he is only 95.15 SOP. But I really like some of his traits. Weak H/Q, and an ordinary coat --- but --- 9.5 F/Q, 9.5 Gait traits. Although I doubt he is finishable, he may be worth keeping for breeding.

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13975765

Rest of the litter is very ordinary.

Other litter from a 95.30 girl - total write off.......

Still can't get a really good pup .... Oh well more litters due this week, so crossing fingers.

I think I may be out of my rut!

Just got this boy!

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13977679

I haven't gone through all of the new pups yet (and there are a lot of them!), but SOP wise, I at least got some 95.4s, which is higher than I've been getting. But, the 95.8 stands out initially!

Did you know?
A conformation dog show is not a comparison of one dog to another but a comparison of each dog to a judge's mental image of the ideal breed type as outlined in the individual breed's breed standard.
