This may seem like a silly question but I have to ask as I'm relatively new. When breeding, which of the following will create the best number:

Breeding #1
Dam Head 10.5
Sire Head 9.5

Breeding #2
Dam Head 10.5
Sire Head 10.4

Thanks in advance!

#2.

The way I understand it a number can reproduce a number 2-3 higher or lower so 10.5 to 9.5 could give you a number between 9.2 and 10.8. But you are mostly to get either 9.4-9.6 or 10.4-10.6

A 10.5 to 10.4 will give you a range between 10.1 and 10.8, but you are more likely to get 10.3-10.6.

But there is way more that goes into the formula. This is just a rough way of saying that the farther away from each other doesn't mean they meet in the middle.

Did you know?
A specialty show is a dog show which reviews a single breed, unlike other dog shows, particularly conformation shows, which are generally referred to as "all-breed" because they are open to all breeds recognized by the sponsoring kennel club.
