Well this weekend we started our show season. We four days of all-breed shows, a specialty show, and our Futurity/Maturity. And what a great weekend we had!

Codie was shown Sat/Sun and in the specialty. He showed very well for his junior handler, expecially considering this was only her 3rd weekend of showing...ever and her first time with a special. Codie is such a good boy.

Molly was shown only in the specialty. As it turned out her handler couldn't make it and we picked up a young handler at ring side. Shayla has shown Codie (Molly's dad) in juniors before. For a very, very naked girl she showed like a trooper.

A friend came with her boy Yando, he was entered in the all-breed shows and in obedience. He picked up two RWDs, earned his CGN and finished his CD with a high in class. On the last day he took a run at Open, only just having learned the broad jump the night before, he didn't quite get there. She also had her Australian Cattle Dog (neutered) earn his CGN.

She also owns Nala (Molly's younger sister). She earned her CGN as well. Also was WB on Saturday, RWB on Monday and now only needs two points to finish.

Stamp (Bug and Seelie's sister) showed better each day. She took first in her class at the specialty and was WB on Monday for her first points!

Another friend (who also did most of our handling) brought her special (the sire of Molly's pups). MoMo was BOB and Group 3rd on Saturday and Select on Sunday.

Her puppy Hedley, who just came for the Futurity (and is a Codie daughter) was Reserve Futurity Female.

Now drumroll, Bug who was only shown in her Futurity is now Reserve Maturity Female, Reserve Futurity Female Chilco's Ladybug of Sunflower!!!!

And Seelie who showed his butt off (shown in three shows on Sunday) was WD on Fri/Sun. And is now Best Opposite in Maturity, Best Opposite in Futurity, Champion pointed Chilco's The Fuzz of Sunflower!!!

And Ronan (Molly's son) was such a little go getter all weekend at 10 weeks of age. Nothing phased him and he was loved by all.

I took that to mean the handler was inexperienced? laugh :D

Or maybe Molly's coat is thin from the puppies?

No Molly's handler has a fair amount of experience. But she is can not be classified as a "handler" and be paid for it, if she wants to continue to show in juniors (which she does, and does quite well in). She herself has rotti's and an Izabian (sp?) hound that she co-owns and is specialing. And yes Molly was pretty much hairless from her litter.

Did you know?
Since its centenary year in 1991, Crufts has officially been recognised as the world's largest and most prestigious dog show by the Guinness Book of Records, with a total of 22,973 dogs being exhibited that year.
