I thought I would post this here in the Tibetan Terrier forum so I don't lose the information happy :)

This info was very kindly posted by 'Kaliz' to help me out with understanding the colour genetics for the 'GOLD' colour in our breed.

"I would breed my Golds and Sables to the Golden Brindle stud (80.8)

For this project, you're just looking at C and K

Sables are CC or Ccch kk
Golds are cchcch kk

Golden Brindle is CC/Ccch/cchcch kKbr

Depending on what the stud dog has at the C allele will determine what you get.

I would breed the Gold to him -
If he is CC - you will get all Sable and Gold Brindle puppies. They will be Ccch

If he is Ccch - you will get Sable, Gold and Gold Brindle puppies.

If he is cchcch - you will get Gold and Gold Brindle puppies.

let me know if I need to clarify anything or if you want additional info."

Did you know?
A specialty show may be regional or national. A "Best in Show" win at a national specialty show is tremendously prestigious, indicating that the winning dog or bitch triumphed at a contest which attracted entries from the most serious fanciers of that breed in the country or continent. Some specialty shows attract international entries.
