I have a dog who is retiring and I thought I might do some obedience with him. It's been years since I have done obedience, and I can't remember the classes. However, when I go to the Help section, I can't find one single thing about Obedience. I will search through the forums, but shouldn't there be some info for people like me?

Hi

I did obedience way back in my first sojourn ... and now again putting titles on a dog.

It's obviously a low interest past time so its expression in the game hasn't been developed or maintained. You don't even get results - just titles.

Novice is the top row of skills - from HOL (Heel on Lead) through to long down. Session them just like show obedience and muscle and coat until you get to 20, then you can enter obedience trials.

When you get 3 passes at Novice your dog gets its Companion Dog title - CD.

Then you start to session Open exercises - the next 4 exercises. Again when you get to 20 you can enter shows. 3 passes and your dog gets a CDX - Companion Dog Excellent, which replaces the CD.

Then you can session the remainder of exercises - the help is here.

Did you know?
In the American Kennel Club, a dog needs 15 points to become a Champion, with each win gaining anywhere from zero to five points depending on the number of dogs competing and the area where the show is held.
