Not a GSD person but from what I can tell those are correct. Solid black & tan I would guess is supposed to be blanket.

I'm not in GSDs but I do color breed - and wonder sometimes what folks were thinking when the color names were assigned. <g>

In order to match RL - I think you have to look at SOLID as SOLID but the name shows what the dog is also carrying. (Perhaps what was originally intended)

according to
steelcross-gsd.com/colours.html
(which includes lots of pics)

GSDs come in 4 'types'
Solid, Bicolor, Blanket, and Sable

Solid shows no markings.
Bicolor shows Red/Cream/Tan/Silver on lower legs/feet and eyebrows.
Saddle shows Red/Cream/Tan/Silver up the shoulder

and of course Sable is black tipped 'overlay'

... and now I want to color breed Saddle and Bicolor GSDs!

From my knowledge the bicolour is absolutely right.
The other two I think are right.

Perhaps message Krisk and ask her, she is a RL God breeder too

Oooh rhondacline yeah you're right, the 'solids' all have AA genotype. So I guess there's no differentiation between saddleback and blanket, just varying degrees of faded/receded black markings.

Thanks for pointing that out!

Yes you are right. Bicolors are dark black and tan that always have toe penciling and tarheels (black on on their back legs from hock to heel).
