Finally got some proper fixes done to the judge creation/replacement system...

-We've got the judge pool back up to 40 judges.
-Three judges per month will be replaced on the last day of the month.
-One of the three judges will be given personality/bias traits based entirely on what is currently most lacking in the judge pool relative to the desired allocation.
-Two of the three judges will be given personality/bias traits more randomly weighting it based on the current desired allocation.

We can change the allocation of personality traits very easily now. I'll post the current allocation her shortly.

Here's a list of the current allocation of personality traits in the judge creation process. If it says 15%, that means that the system tries to make sure about 15% of the current judges have that personality/bias.

Sex

Dog - 20%
Bitch - 10%

Non-Popular Breeds

10%

Owner Handler

15%

Familiarity

15%

Champions for Best of Breed

15%

Relative to Breed

15%

As I'm looking at the new judges, I notice that Judy Weaver is listed twice. Is this a set of identical twins that are really separate judges, or is it a mistake?

well that's odd

I know when I updated the judges sheet yesterday - she was NOT listed twice - but Myron Carlo and Sarah Brush were still listed.

So her showing up twice might have happened when those two were bumped off the main list to the Retired list?

Great news but when are the glitches for retired judges still appearing going to be fixed? I have sponsored several shows that have had retired judges. Very frustrating...

The retired judges appear when all the judges are used up for the day - at least that's what I noticed. With fewer judges and lots more shows (specialties and all breed) recently, this happens regularly.

FWIW, I love seeing the retirees show up to judge specialties!!

I also love seeing the retired judges turn up occasionally. Adds a little bit more uncertainty to the results (for those of us who have not had dogs under them before).

Did you know?
The sit for exam is a modified version of the Stand for Exam. It is generally used in novice level classes and requires the handler to order the dog to sit and then to move away from the dog the length of the leash. The judge will then approach the dog and pet the dog's head.
