What exactly does it mean when it says a judge is very political or not very political? I don't understand.

It means that a judge will chose certain handlers for wins every time typically regardless of dog. |

quoteSo if I understand correctly it's the judges that are not very political that do that right? |

They will still prefer top rated handlers but a *good* dog with a lower ranked handler can (and most likely will) still place over others with "better" handlers. Happens all the time with handlers ranked like 25 and above. |

Just an example, not calling out any specific dogs here... showdog.com/shows/breed_results.aspx?show=FJ%20Spring%20Fever%20All%20Breed%206&breed=Irish%20Setter "Judge Info - Cristi Langley: Shows a slight bias toward dogs over bitches. Not very political. Low level of breed bias." As you can see, a nice class male went BOB with a 'lesser' handler over a special with a 'better' handler. In this case, Justin Moyer and Pamelan Treadwell are #1 and #2 on Langley's favorite handlers list, respectively. However, on overall handler rankings, Moyer is #2 and Treadwell is #25. Clearly, Langley had no issue with handlers based on her profile. Hope this helped a little.. |

Oh thank you so much. The example was exactly what I needed to understand better. |
