Ok so I was talking to a breeder about who was out in the rings today and who we like and why and why we would avoid so and so. It got me thinking about who I liked in the ring right now thatI have seen, and honestly im not sure lol.

But, I was wondering...Who is your favorite show dog out in the ring right now? Why do you like him/her? What drew your eyes to him/her when you first saw him/her?

I thought this would be a fun post and you could potentially see what type/types certain people prefer and such. Anyways, im going to start paying attention and seeing who my favorite is and I will post when I find it :P

My favorite dog out right now in my area is 'Jett" - MBIS Am Can Ch Ferndel Always In Fashion
He is a Welsh Springer. He's just stunning in the flesh, he has awesome movement and fits the standard to a "T" Most of all he has an amzaing temeperment! Nice Welsh's are hard to come by (at least around here) Although this is a breed I would never think of getting he really is a nice example of the breed and a great breed ambassator(sp?? sorry its early)

Honestly, I haven't been out much this year because of school, but I took a look at the Top Twenty, and most of them are dogs I am not particularly fond of.

One of them that I DO like is a dog shown by Frank Murphy, but I've known him since he was an owner-handled one year old.

CH Ripsnorter's Mt View Lookout

I also like CH Galilee's Pure of Spirit

As far as my breeds (Pugs and Whippets) go, I haven't seen enough to really tell you, but I know Pugs in general are not in my good graces, and Whippets generally are!

CH Allure Blazing Star Alisaton, "CJ" is one of my favorites, I like Ch Toasty's Treasure Island pretty well, but my favorite dog showing right now is BIS Am./Can. Ch. Easthill Broxden Pop Star, SDHF.

Oh, I should explain. CJ is the #1 Doberman Pinscher right now, and the #2 overall ? I think. She is just downright gorgeous, she has a stunning headpeice and nearly perfect movement. She is very typey and is solidly built like Dobes should be.

Treasure- she is a really gorgeous bitch. She is the #1 Golden and #5 or 6 all breeds. She is not overdone like 80% of the Goldens you see out there today, she has AMAZING movement, and she's the sweetest thing to walk on four legs!

And Nick- the last dog I posted- also a Golden. He is just everything I want in a Golden someday. He has the most gorgeous head, he moves like a dream, he has a fantastic topline, he has temperament that can't be beat, he's got fantastic anglles in front and rear, a great tailset, and he's balanced through out.

Hmm. I like almost all of the dogs Clint Livingston has right now, probably because I see them at every show, I get to see them on good days, and bad days, and they DEFINETELY have more good days than bad days. Especially Treasure and Ebbie.

Treasure, CH Toasty's Treasure Island. #1 Golden, #5 All breeds. Moves like a DREAM, and like Kelsey said, she is SOOO sweet.

Ebbie, CH Afterglow Ebbinezer

Again, I could go on about all of the dogs he has right now, like Quin. haha happy :)

Wow, Nick is GORGEOUS!

I personally prefer the European rings over the American, BUT, I do have a couple favs in Am.

apexcanecorso.com/Farah.htm
Gr. Ch Apex's Farah

-> Farah is an American-bred Corso with Italian bloodlines. She is definitely way smaller than Marneo but still carries good Corso characteristics. I LOVE her headpiece and she is also my favorite color. Deep chest and athletic, well-built body for a bitch. One of my favs in the ring right now.

www.italicacanecorso.com/males.html
Multi Ch. Marneo TT, CGC, CAL1, WAT1, 2&3, GDT & IDT

-> He was bred by an Italian breeder, so that says a lot about the American ring right now. He, in my opinion, is pretty massive BUT still looks like a Cane Corso and not some excessive Mastiffy type animal. He has great mesomorphism, athleticism, his head is great, and you can tell about his temperament and ability to work by his titles.

Both Cane Corso Italianos, although from quite different bloodlines.

My favorite dog in the AKC ring today has got to be my sweet Lover Boy. Well, he doesn't technically belong to me but I love him nonetheless. He's such a handsome boy with a stellar temperament.

CJ is a stunning dobie, a dream dog, but...sorry to say so, but it just irks me the way some handlers dress, specially when they are not exactly slim, whats with that dress tight in the back and showing the flabby arms like that ? Men wear suits normally, so that is no problem, but I have seen so many fat women showing with sleeveless tops, looking so unappealing, for the sake of the beauty of the dog, some people need to dress more properly and discrete. The focus of attention in the ring, is the dog, after all, and unfortunately when you see somebody fat dressing like that you cant help but think...geez, what is she thinking?
Sorry to sound so mean, but I am just being brutally honest.

I am sorry but that handler handled that dog BEAUTIFULLY. You can tell, she is fighting a smile throughout. Who cares if she is a bit heavy. If she were anorexic, no one would care. Yet everyday people whine about how women are held to high standards, and stuff like this happens. This handler is awesome and she is not in booty shorts and a belly shirt or in a thong bikini. She is dressed very tastefully, in a very pretty dress and 100 years ago what she is wearing would have been considered sexy. Now it is pencil thin women that are perfect and the rest of us are subpar. It's just a change of times. Maybe in 50 years the anorexic women will be replaced with skeletons. I have seen little skinny women bend over in miniskirts with thongs on...no one comments on that (unless it is positive or naughty). Who really cares if she is a bit bigger. She is a beautiful, elegant and talented women. If you are looking at the handler then already you have failed - look at the dog. That is what DOG shows are about. Anyone who sees anything but the dog is quite shallow and probably young or someone that has been blessed with really good genetics.

Wow, seriously? Commenting on how someone is dressed because of weight (unless they're in a pasties and thong, which isn't something I'd like to look at, regardless of weight) is extremely shallow. The weight of the handler does NOT take away from the beauty of the dog, I personally believe it adds to it. Heavy women are criticized left and right in this country and I think she's brave for being able to dress up in such a beautiful dress and go out to do what she seems to love doing with people like you out there. A good person is a good person, a good handler is a good handler. Stop looking at the weight of the person instead of the person behind the weight.
