Well, seeing as Faith turned 8 this year.. and this whole torn ACL is just a reminder of that.. and while she's not going to be officially retired for two more years, this whole surgery is putting her SAR career in jeopardy. So, my mom has decided to start looking for another Search and Rescue dog. Faith and I are going to continue to work in 4-H and she may be trained to be a service animal for my sister who has MS. Gyp is 10- and he's got a few back problems, and so he's not going to be re-certified either. Sadie was our future hopeful before she became a 'show dog'- but she doesn't have enough toy drive to do it, so you see the predicament. Its going to be a full house, that's for sure. 5 Border Collies, a Gordon Setter, and a Pug- all under the same roof.. with 5 of the two legged variety to add to it.
Anyways.. this is the dog my mom is looking at. He's 8 months old.. and has tons of toy drive.. he's from a shelter called "Best Friends". His current name is Petey but we're thinking about re-naming him Maxxwell or Weylin. He's still a little ugly, but he's got the sweetest face...
