I was wondering Jeff if there is anyway that you might be able to make it so that when you log onto your main kennel in your family account that we can not just switch back and forth without logging off of ever account and logging back in. Say, if my main kennel was my main account and the other four kennels were sub accounts and they dropped down in a drop-down box. This might have been talked about before but I haven't seen it, so I thouhgt I would ask about it.
Thanks

The only problem I see is that some people share family accounts with multiple people, for example the family I'm in has 14 kennels, run by 9 different people |

I can understand that, but the ones of us that use all 5 of our own kennels would love it I am sure. It sure would make my life quicker and easier. |

It's on the list for all of the sites. |

How would it work for those of us that have a family account with other people on it?
I don't have a family account here but, since Jeff said it's on the list for all the sites, I do have 2 family accounts on ShowCats. Three of those 10 accounts are not mine. Will the other account holders be able to access my accounts? If so, I have a couple people to inform that they're being dropped...
Maybe if the option was added that the "main account" could turn the feature off for those of us that have other people on our family account? Or that the "main account" could register which other accounts were theirs? |

If I remember correctly, there will be an option to enable whichever kennel/stable/cattery you want for a single login

If when you log on to your main account with your password, only the kennels with the same password would be able to move from one account to the other and if the other kennels have a different password then they would not be able to be accessible. Hopefully that made sense. I could then see this as a wonderfull addition. |

I know on the sites that I do use and have this in place, you are able to leave accounts off that you do not want to sub off your main account. There is a spot in your profile that you are able to go to and make which account you want and don't want to be subbed off that one accounts. So if he does it like that, you can just leave the ones that other people use off your list. |

Sounds good. I'm going to have to change a bunch of passwords maybe. |

Slow down just a bit....
It will work by 'linking' the accounts. Let's say you have a family account with A, B, and C where A & B are you and C is somebody else or somebody you don't want to have access to A & B.
While logged in to account A, you'll submit a request to account B to link the two accounts. You'll then go login to account B and confirm the request. After that you'll have a button on your "My Kennel" page that will allow you to switch between accounts with one click.
Let's say that account C then decides to be a jerk and attempt to gain access to acccount A. They'll do the same thing and submit a request to be linked to account A. However, when you see that request you'll just deny it.
Accounts won't be linked unless you confirm the link from both accounts.
this is an addition that is likely at least two-weeks off |

I went from a standard account to a family account and back to a standard because I just didn't have time to manage all of them. Being able to get from one kennel to the other more easily would have made a huge difference in the time I spent- I had to go back and forth to remember which kennel had which dogs- a simple way to get back and forth more efficiently would be a wonderful addition, and might entice me to go back to family account... |

I like the linking of accounts concept - now, I'm completely alright with this. |

OMG! This will probably be the best addition to the site ever when implemented! Thank you so much Jeff. I've been waiting for something like this to come along.

I like this future addition. I also like how you said we connect acounts that are not part of the family account. I have a family along with rare breed standards as well.
One other question not sure if it was asked or not. What about basic? Most people have one basic as well as all there standard/family accounts. Would there be a way to log into that directly like you are implementing with standards? I often forget to log into my basic because I dont see its name listed with my family accounts. lol |
