Wish me good luck! I don't know how many non-licensed puppies will be there, since it's a smallish show, but it will be fun to get them in a ring for the first time. I'm hoping to get pictures of them, too, especially if they get RIBBONS . . . :P

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone! I honestly couldn't be happier with how the puppies did today. They walked pretty well around the ring--the show was outside and we've practiced inside mostly, so I know they'd have issues with that. HOWEVER, they did a great job puppy-gaiting and stood pretty well on the table. Today being Friday there weren't many dogs and only a few non-licensed puppies, so they didn't run puppy groups, but since that's not why I went, anyway, I was happy enough with the judge putting Nibbler up as Best Puppy of Breed.
Anyway, I had *really* wanted to do the entire show, since there were three long-time TFT breeders judging and a Terrier judge that I really respect. Because I was so broke, I picked the one ring that gave me the most bang for my buck: not only has this judge been a TFT breeder for 25 years, she also has been a UKC judge for the last (I think) 15 years AND she bred the Westminster AOM TFT for 2009. Add to that the fact her dogs are behind mine and I *really* wanted to have her judge my future breeding stock--if that's what they will end up being--and the result of my current dogs. Her advice was worth every penny I paid and every effort I made to get to this show. And now, a few pics. I didn't take too many, since I was too busy walking around and socializing, but if I get a chance to go tomorrow (just to socialize), then I'll try to enlist people to take pictures for me.

Oh, and to top it all off? I have the potential opportunity to purchase a relative of that AOM, as a future stud dog. I'm in the clouds! |

More pictures!
Leela I absolutely love this girl's face--it's so expressive!

Investigating Smells They especially were enamored with the pine straw. Whenever they were in their crates, they spent a lot of time trying to drag pine straw in with them.

You mean game balls come in "round?" We're a football family--they've never seen a golf ball.

This thing is HUGE! The show site uses logs to block off the show area. They're an easy step-over thing, but when you're 6 inches at the shoulder, things come a little tougher.
