My dog has his UD and along the way to this accomplishment he has been earning points, I believe he has 80...my question is what are the points for???

the points are an attempt to rank obedience dogs, and are the number of dogs your dog has beaten (I think).

A conformation dog show is not a comparison of one dog to another but a comparison of each dog to a judge's mental image of the ideal breed type as outlined in the individual breed's breed standard.
