How do you manually calculate SOP to figure out difference if SS was higher?

I believe the formula is to take the dog’s SS and subtract it from 20, and then divide the number you get from that in half and then add that result to the SOP.

So,

20 - x = y ; y / 2 = z ; z + SS = Adj. SS

As Whiskey Mac says above. I have added an example below as well:

Subtract the dog's actual SS from the maximum of 20.
Divide the result by 2.
Add this result to the dog's SOP.
The result is his/her adjusted SOP

An example below:

Take a dog with low SS of 18.1 and a SOP of 97.55.
Subtract the actual SS of 18.1 from the maximum SS of 20.
Divide the result by 2 (you get 0.95).
You then add this result to his SOP of 97.55.
The result is his adjusted SS of 98.50.
