I'm a returning player and looking into whether I would like to upgrade again...the Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen breed page is "not found". It looks like its a broken link?

Bump. After another hiatus, I see that this bug is still occurring. I’d love to revive the breed, but this sure complicates things…

That link doesn’t work but if you go tot he breed page the traditional way I think it does.
Huh that is weird. I wonder if you look for the breed in shows to see if there are any active breeders?
*edited as realized that yes it was incorrect page!*

Not really... if you go to this dog:

https://www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=16875775

the breed page links to the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen.

That's wrong and Jeff should fix it.

Neither does the link from here: https://www.showdog.com/breeds/

I would message Rhoslyn (https://www.showdog.com/general/user_information.aspx?user=Rhoslyn+Kennels) they have some reclaimable ones that are bred by them and in an abandoned basic kennel. They may be willing to help.

I have a few dogs that I can reclaim, as well, but this bug sure makes things difficult. I am contacting Jeff to see if this can be fixed. I was told by another player that they had reached out to him in the past, but his "fix" was to have it go to the PBGV page...

The English Cocker has had an American Cocker picture for ages. Oddly enough, I'd swear that it originally had the correct cocker there.

However, at least the page is otherwise accessible and correct.

Has anyone figured out a workaround to this error yet? Or is the GBGV page really non-existent? The GBGV is currently the lowest in the breed activity rankings and I feel this error contributes to that. Hard to get into a breed that you can't see any information for...

I played the breed, can’t remember from which kennel off the top of my head.
I did message Jeff and he said he would fix the link to the breed page. His fix, however, was the link to the PBGV page, as it is now. Prior to this it said link not found.
Not long after that, I was the only player for a while so I dropped the breed.

I reached out to Jeff once again after my return from another hiatus, but never heard back. Since it doesn't seem to be a bug he's willing to fix, I found another breed to help. It is quite unfortunate, though, since I feel this game is losing players and income based on these bugs and lack of updates. I would have a family account again if I was able to play appropriately. I still love the uniqueness of the game, though, which is why I keep coming back and play on at least a small scale...

This link worked for me. I went to Amoroso's champions bred link, and clicked on the breed link to one of the old champions. Don't know how helpful that is

Yes that works, thank you so much! Someone should send Jeff that link so he knows to use it to replace the current broken ones. (I would do it myself but don't know how to properly contact him, do I send his account a PM or is there an email?)

Ok. I found one of my old GBGVs

https://www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=17694696

Clicking on the breed link with this dog leads to the PBGV breed page.

So weird.

It seems you have to go to the various "Champions Bred" link and click the breed in that list. This always seems to take me to the correct breed page.

The breed page from any individual dog is linked to the Petite version. Not good for anyone new coming but proves the page still exists and does give access to the other breed info.

Did you know?
A specialty show is a dog show which reviews a single breed, unlike other dog shows, particularly conformation shows, which are generally referred to as "all-breed" because they are open to all breeds recognized by the sponsoring kennel club.
