I had a bit of a look around. What is the status of the breed - from your perspective (why are you leaving)?

Almost all the WH seem to be chocolate although there are a couple of wild-boar to be found.

The LH seem to be mostly sable.

There do not seem to be any smooths at all.

Any dormant projects hiding out that can be tapped?

I'm not sure I can take on another breed but I can try to help you out bit to keep the breed alive. (PM me if you prefer.)

Thanks for the Qs.

There's no smooths. At least I've never seen them in 2 years.
I'm leaving cuz I'm slowly quitting the game.

Dachshunds have SO many colors but the dominant ones are Chocolate & Tan Wires and Wildboar Wires, Sable Longs, and I have a Chocolate & Tan Long. So there's a lot of room for color and coat type breeding in the breed.

It's competitive in the show ring. 99+ sop is best for the ring, although a bit lower can still finish. Lots of group placements available. BIS as well depending on the judge.

The breed isn't dead or specifically in need of help.
I'm just quitting and don't wanna FH all my dogs lol

Thank you.

Did you know?
Since its centenary year in 1991, Crufts has officially been recognised as the world's largest and most prestigious dog show by the Guinness Book of Records, with a total of 22,973 dogs being exhibited that year.
