How do we work out the dog's height for the registry? |

If the dog is over 2 and at their adult height - use the breed standard to determine the range for males/females and just pick a height. If the dog is under 2 - I would just select what the adult height you will probably choose and deduct a few inches or so depending on the dogs age (how far away are they from the adult height.) Bottom line, it's whatever you choose that is realistic for the breed/age. |

What is the canine good citizen advanced? Is that for dogs who alread have the CGC title? |

CGCA - yes - its the test after the CGC 1. Dog sits or lays down and waits under control. 2. Walks on a loose leash in a natural situation (not in a ring)—does not pull. 3. Walks on a loose leash through a crowd. 4. Dog walks past distraction dogs present; does not pull. 5. Sit-stay in small group (3 other people with dogs). 6. Dog allows person who is carrying something to approach and pet it. 7. “Leave it.” Dog walks by food and follows owner instructions, “Leave it.” 8. Down or sit stay-distance (owner’s choice). 9. Recall (coming when called) with distractions present. 10. Dog will enter/exit a doorway or passageway with owner and remain under control. there's also a CGC Urban - but we probably won't offer that |

Are we still limited to only 2 dogs per kennel? and if so, if we wanted to change dogs can we delete one and add a different one? |

Where do we find the results? I have to say this whole project of yours has added alot of interest for me in SD! |

I will post results here I finished judging the Canine Good Citizen tests yesterday and started on Agility So I just need to finish those tests. Agility has been a learning experience since I've never competed in it. Plus I want us to have scores/times that are realistic... dogs with a slow "speed" trait - will get lower times - dogs with fast speed trait - will get faster times. then there are NQ Faults, non NQ faults ... so ...once I post results if you see something that looks "wonky/unrealistic" let me know so that I can edit the judging formula It's added another level of play for me too! I have a couple dogs that I'm now sessioning for obedience so I can get a Versatility title (Obedience, Agility and Tracking) very exciting (at least I think so) |

alrighty then - I'm calling the trial judged Here's the link ... https://goo.gl/ZAc8NZ Some of the judging formulas are still a work in progress - I'm striving for realistic results based on the dogs trait scores - but then I worry whether too many dogs are Failing or too many dogs are Passing. So if you have any insight to share feel free to share. Some scoring for Agility changed between judging Standard and Jumpers with Weaves - I'm still tweaking the time formula - the way it stands right now it's very difficult for a dog to go over time BUT, I'm not familiar enough with agility trial times to know whether our results are too far off the course time. I am happy enough with the results to call the trial done. But, if you have any thoughts please share and we'll tweak things some more next week. and speaking of next week... We'll have > Canine Good Citizen, > Agility & Jumpers with Weaves (we'll have two more weeks with just Novice and then we'll add Open) last I checked the poll Rally and Field Trials were tied for being added next - so head to the poll and vote for what event you'd like to see added next |

I think this is so much fun and I definitely appreciate all the hard work you're putting in. I like the random factor, it seems good, I entered a variety of breeds from several kennel just to see. My dogs did better on the whole this week than last week. I think it's ok for it to be a work in progress. I haven't competed in anything but dock diving recently so I'm unfamiliar with the average % of dogs that pass/fail in each sport. It seems like more dogs passed in agility than failed but then I would think that would be quite normal because most people wouldn't enter if they didn't think their dogs were ready and had a good shot at qualifying. Of course we all know not all breeds are created equal for all sports, so I would think my Malamute would have a higher change of a DQ than say my sheltie which is a more typical agility breed. How many Q's do we need per each level to receive a title? I"m also sessioning dogs in obedience for the first time because I want to do the versatility title too |
