Most of you probably know that a farm in Surrey has been confirmed to be carrying another strand of the dreaded foot and mouth.
Memories and images are probably still clear in our minds of how horrible it was back in 2001. For any livestock owner, the worry and situation was something none of us can imagine. Lets all hope that they caught this soon enough, and that it doesn't spread. x |

It is very sad that this has happened again. The long wet summer hasnt helped. It is also interesting that the research lab where they are working on the strain of foot and mouth is practically next door to the infected farm. I hope it can be contained quickly.I can still 'smell' the awful disinfectant used last time and rember the stench of burning. |

Oh well it's back again.I don't know why they didn't close the roads off properly last time. |

I know, I just hope it doesn't turn into an epidemic again. There's supposed to be a total ban on livestock movement, however down here in Cornwall just yesterday my mum saw a sheep lorry driving down the A30, full up. |

The ban on movement is in England now and Wales and Scotland will make their own arrangements.Maybe the sheep were moved before the restrictions were put in place.I hope it won't be a severe outbreak.I still remember the poor lady that had her pet sheep slaughtered last time. Also it would have an effect on dog shows in any infected area. |
