Has anyone ever had a problem with thier dog being incontinent.....My 9 month old dobie pup is incontinent....or so we think and the vet seems to agree at this stage.......she wees in her sleep alot which has got to be upsetting her...as dobies hate doing anything undignified and are so proud of themselves!!

We have been told that she may grow out of it, and its best not to breed her or have her desexed.....We got her from a breeder reccomended by the Dobie club who has been breeding for 25+ years and the breeder is saying she has never had this problem before with any pups....but our vet says this is a genetic trait??

Just wondering what anyones experiences are.....as Ideally we wanted to breed her a few times and then have her desexed, but it looks like that isnt going to be in her best interests.

Also has anyone ever had an issue like this with a pup they have gotten from a breeder? Im not sure what we can do.....are we entitled to our money back from the breeder or should the breeder be liable for any medical costs? As we got this pup to breed and now we have been advised not to....also we want her desexed one day so we dont end up with pups we cant sell or find a good home for (dont like the idea of her getting knocked up by some mongrel doggie - and ending up with weird half breed pups!)

Did you know?
A conformation dog show is not a comparison of one dog to another but a comparison of each dog to a judge's mental image of the ideal breed type as outlined in the individual breed's breed standard.
