I am American and I am learning Norwegian. I went to the Swedish forum and recognized some of the words. Is Norwegian similar to Swedish?

Yes, it's very similar. I'm from Sweden and have no problem to understand norwegian and danish.

Yes it is very simular, LibertyKennels. "My name is" is the same in Norweigain and Swedish, and so are a lot of other words. I study tons of languages

Here's a Norweigian Proverb. Some words may be spelled wrong.

Du skal ikke selge skinnet
fur bjumen er skutt

(Dont sell the pellets before you have shot the bear)

You almost got it right... But it isn't pellets, but fur you shouldn't sell before the bear is shot.

Would your last name be Østhus (Oesthus), Østerhus or something like that?

Did you know?
The sit for exam is a modified version of the Stand for Exam. It is generally used in novice level classes and requires the handler to order the dog to sit and then to move away from the dog the length of the leash. The judge will then approach the dog and pet the dog's head.
