Ok.. I'm gonna post a brag thats a couple of weeks old... but I'm still on a high from it.

Under a beagle specialist in late August, I got Best Of Breed (19 pts) with my 15mth old dog, and RUBOB (14 pts) with his 7.5 month old sister!!

The bitch went on to take Best Minor in group, and not to be outdone, her brother took Best Junior in group.8)

Not bad under a specialist at the one show!wink ;)

looks like I'm the only bragger 'round here!

At our recent National beagle specialty, my 16 mth old dog placed 5th in his class (to be placed is fabulous!) and THEN at the Royal Melbourne Show (largest dog show in southern hemisphere) he *WON* his class.

A Royal class win was beyond my wildest dreams... especially as he had an altercation with another stud dog and he came out of it with 4 puncture wounds to his rear off show side leg! He was very nearly scratched......He certainly keeps me entertained!!

I'm on a high from Yesterday! My Mother Golden Retriever Phantom got Best of Breed twice!!!
Only at an open show, but I was so proud of them and really happy because the second time I showed him.
It was nice to show a dog that wins for a change as my little boy has yet to have any wins (at the minute I'd settle for 3 of 4!!happy :)
Anyway that's my big news

I know it's not showing, but I wanted to let everyone know anyway!

I'm having a fantastic time with racing my greyhound (my "pet" greyhound that lives inside!!)... Last Wednesday she ran 3rd!!! laugh :D For a dog that was going to be put down, she's doing great (especially with an inexperienced trainer!).

So far she's given me two fourths and a third, and she's racing again this Wednesday. Wish us luck! happy :)

Did you know?
A specialty show may be regional or national. A "Best in Show" win at a national specialty show is tremendously prestigious, indicating that the winning dog or bitch triumphed at a contest which attracted entries from the most serious fanciers of that breed in the country or continent. Some specialty shows attract international entries.
