Okay,so ever since i saw the tibetan mastiff at westminister,I have wanted one sooo badly.So,i did my researh,and found a breeder who wasent too far away...so i took a chance and went there today,and unexpectedly,I came home with a Beautiful little Tibetan boyThe lady had no certain name picked out for him...so i decided to name him Thor!She is sending in his papers to be registered,and i cant wait until i get to show him!

now...Hes not too fond of pictures,so im not going to be a fanatic and post pics every day....I'll only post pics once in a whileI might get more today,so keep a look-out

Oh how cute!! I think my dog from the pound is a mix of that breed. She's black and tan and has a lot of hair like Tibetan Mastiffs do.

yes,that is a common color in tibetan mastiffs,so maybe!What size is your dog?

Im taking Thor out to the kennel so he can see the showdogs...i wonder what They'll Think of the little furballI have all boxers,so its a pretty dramatic coat change for meAlthough i do have a rescued sibe,and their coats are pretty long too

Well she is pretty large. Sibes are beautiful dogs. I love their blue eyes. Boxers are too funny!! I have a friend who owns one. He's VERY hyper and will jump all over you. Their great family dogs too.

Not to be the devils advocate or anything, but I hope you did your research on the breed, as Tibetan Mastiffs have a personality much apart from other breeds. I'm really hoping you didn't get him on whim just because you liked the Westminster dog, we hear that all too often these days, and alot of times the situation doesn't turn so happily ever after.

Anyways, I'd like to put in my two cents as well on the cute factor, he VERY darling, what a heart throb. happy hope he makes you happy and you both have a happy life together. happy

ahhh,yeshdont worry...i would never be the kind to go out and buy a dog without reading about ithehe.

Im not always fond about long coats,but the personality sounded okay,and i fell in love with thor as soon as i saw him

As for Kit and karma(my other 2 dogs that stay in the house),they love themKarmas the old wit of the house so she knew he was a pup and wasent aggresive and i think she has adopted him!I dont think the security system worked to well...LMAO.As for kit...she thinks hes a little toy,hes so fluffy!She loves to dig her nose in his fur

As for the showdogs in the kennel,they immediatly started barking at him(i suppose they thought he was a groundhog or something)and they scared little ThorBut,Im gonna let him come in tonight with me and let him roam around while im doing the kennel work...so hopefuly They'll get used to him

So glad to hear you did your research and did some thinking before getting such a cutie. I'm sure you two will have tons of fun together, go through many fun adventures (new coat type) and have fun figuring eachother out...may you two have many happy years together!!!!

I agree with this completely. I was bothered by the "I saw one at westminster" which was barley a month ago. I have done a lot of research on the breed, since a friend mentioned she might get one and I am a Mastiff nut. I can tell you I wouldnt own one, not my type of dog.

The puppy is cute, just be so sure you watch him and do a lot of training. I am curious where you got him from on such short notice?
