I would like to have a terrier breed but I can't decide which one. I don't want a breed with really long fur like yorkies and skye terriers. I would prefer a smaller terrier breed but it doesn't matter if you come up with a bigger one like a airdale. Does anyone have a breed for me?

California Kennel, after my dog Cali.
A chiXdoxie from California that was flown up to Alberta because hundreds of chihuahua and chihuahua mixes are euthanized each day.

It depends what do you want to reach ...

There are some Terrier races with which you can try to win Best in Show - Staffordshire for example ...

On a good way and with a SOP around 98 are Welsh Terriers and Airedale Terriers. Wire Foxterriers are very closed now happy :)

With Miniature Schnauzer and Irish Terrier you will have a lot of work. This races seems not to be breeded for a while. The SOP is very less and I work with starter dogs, too because there are no dogs excisting for "missing links" in genetic code.

But I'm sure - with breeding, selecting and combinations into the next generations we will have some good one in a few month.

I would be glad if you could decide you for same rare races ...

Please send PN to me and we could make a choise what do you want.

I have got Lakelands, Miniature Schnauzer, Irish Terrier, Wire Foxterrier Welsh- and Airedale Terriers.

happy :) Iris

There are good Aussies and Cairns available at the moment and the Cairns are quite competitive but with a fairly small amount of kennels.

Sealyhams are improving too and the competition is good.

Anyway, whatever you choose, welcome to Terriers!

There aren't many around, I've been looking for a couple of months and only got 4. The show entries aren't big so there are few majors out there. You are best to contact the breeders directly through the information page of top kennels.

Did you know?
Since its centenary year in 1991, Crufts has officially been recognised as the world's largest and most prestigious dog show by the Guinness Book of Records, with a total of 22,973 dogs being exhibited that year.
