I had 3 dogs entered under this "Very political judge, likes to see certain handlers on dogs". I needed one dog in particular to pick up the points so I put the judge's preferred handler on him. Put the 2nd favorite handler on the one who also could use the points. Left the unpointed one with no handler. The owner/handled one went 4th in show.

I give up.

I was thinking my girl would go BOB in that show.

I have feeling this "Thinks dogs should be compared to how good they are vs the rest of their breed rather than overall quality vs all dogs." judge trait spiced things up a bit.

Its the same trait that sometimes leads to source quality dogs going BIS.

Randomness fights of the predictability I guess? Your boy got a major though!

So you are saying that this dog is the best of the bunch in terms of the Standard? But that is just one judge's opinion. These are his first points.

This is worse than real life!

Yeah, I have never played with entries to see if it's comparing Game SOP or the Judge's preffered standard.

On top of that, I don't know if anyone has figured out how to know which of the judge's quirks is weighted more Handler vs Breed Preference vs Dog traits.

It would be interesting to hear folks theories.

The first obedience title is a CD, or "Companion Dog", which is earned through competition in the Novice obedience class.
