my best friend is nice,
like all best friends should be,
shes there when Im happy,
or when I am lonely.
Though she never talks,
she always listens good,
she always listens nicely,
like all best friends should.
Shes a gold streak in the sun,
always wanting fun,
she may be old and tired,
shell never be expired.
She sleeps with me at night,
protecting me from fright,
and always wanting good,
like all best friends should.

Puppy Dreams

Nose twitching,
Hindlegs trembling,
Paws scrabbling.

Puppy dreaming,
Tussling littermates,
Chasing animals he has never seen.

Small yelps,
Low growl,
Danger sensed in dream state.

Startled awake,
Blinking sleepily,
Mouth yawns.

Does he remember?
