So a few years ago as a project for SD Chronicle I did what I called a "Breed Health Report"
It included info from each breed's info page -
*Current # of Dogs in Game,
*Number of Breed Entries for the Month,
*# of Breeders (I only counted breeders if they had more than 10 of the specified breed)
*In the original report I also included whether genes were missing from the game or if all colors were present


So I came across the spreadsheet and thought it would be interesting to compare the game from 2016 to the game of 2020. So here it is 2016 Breed Populations vs 2020

If you're on the hunt for low population breeds to help out - we have quite a few.

Do keep in mind that the # of dogs in the game changes continually maybe a kennel just had 10 litters whelp - with 6 pups per litter thats 60 dogs right there. So there are quite a few breeds that look better off than they actually are, just because of the number of puppies on the ground at the moment.

Do you have stats for the site as a whole comparing number of dogs, number of kennels, etc?

Sad to see at least one breed I played for years has all but disappeared. That would be Curly Coated Retrievers.
(I was CarrieCurl and, CarrieCurt Too, look them up.)

BarStarRotties - unfortunately I don't have any stats for # of dogs/kennels other than what you can estimated based on the numbers here.


If we add the column for # of Kennels in each breed the total in 2016 is 927 Kennels
and the 2020 total is 571

well it won't let me sum the number of dogs because of the + and < signs in the columns

Those are show winners for Oct 2016 - for that month total show entries was over 77,000


this is Nov 2016 - this sheet shows we were averaging 2400-2900 entries per day
