banning all domestic cats in the UK, is the same as banning all large breed, supposedly dangerous dogs in the US. It isn't going to happen, and it is based on personal preference, not any real scientific reasoning.

I used to like cats but I am having so many problems with them coming into my garden (yes even with three hunting dogs!) and upsetting my dogs that I am becomming very anti-cat.
Please cat owners why can't you have a run for your cats or keep them inside the house. It is possible as this is exactly what pedigree cat owners do.
Regards
Pam

In an ideal world all cats would be kept indoors. I have two, and that is my goal..to keep both in. However, one of my cats is an escape artist and sneaks out when you are not looking. I have literally had her in another room and she shot out of it and out the door before I could close it. She also knows how to open the door by herself, so if it is not locked she can get out ( and I have 3 kids that are constantly in and out, so it isn't always locked). We have nowhere on our property to put a run that connects to the house so that isn't an option either. My biggest fear is to come home to her dead on the road, but I have run out of ideas to keep her from getting out. As she gets older she gets out less, but still gets out. Suggestions for keeping her in are welcome.

cats aren't stupid. they're just not as smart as dogs. i taught my cat to sit, come and lie down. she found it easy.

Did you know?
The figure 8 exercise requires the team to heel in a figure 8 pattern either on or off leash. Generally two of the ring stewards will assist the judge with this exercise by acting as "posts", standing 8 feet apart, that the team walks around to form the loops of the figure 8.
