Post your poems or favorite poems here. Here is one.

Come and join us among the forest and the citys.
Feel the salty mist of the ocean on your face,
Discover a world of its own.
A perfect balance of town and country,
This is are home.\

Eldorado
By:Edgar A. Poe

Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In serch of Eldorado.

But he grew old--
This knight so bold--
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
Not a spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.

And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He me a pilgram shadow--
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be--
This land of Eldorado?"

"Over the Mountains,
Of the Moon,
Down in the Valley of Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride."
The shade replied,
"If you seek for Eldorado!"

Edgar Poe is probably my favorate Poet;
and this is my favorate poem that he made.

The shortened version of a poem my Baxter Black called Cowboy Is His Name.

There's a hundred years of history
and a hundred before that
All gathered in the thinkin'
Goin' on beneath his hat

The cold flame burns within him
Til' his skin's as cold as ice
And the dues he paid to get here
Are worth every sacrifice

All the miles spent sleepy drivin'
All the money down the drain
All the 'If I's' and 'nearlys'
All the bandages and pain

All the female tears left dryin'
All the fever and the fight
Are just a small down payment
On the ride he makes tonight

It's guts and love and glory,
One mortal's chance at fame
His legacy is rodeo
And cowboy is his name

Another Reason Why I Don't Keep A Gun In The House - Billy Collins

The neighbors' dog will not stop barking.
He is barking the same high, rhythmic bark
that he barks every time they leave the house.
They must switch him on on their way out.

The neighbors' dog will not stop barking.
I close all the windows in the house
and put on a Beethoven symphony full blast
but I can still hear him muffled under the music,
barking, barking, barking,

and now I can see him sitting in the orchestra,
his head raised confidently as if Beethoven
had included a part for barking dog.

When the record finally ends he is still barking,
sitting there in the oboe section barking,
his eyes fixed on the conductor who is
entreating him with his baton

while the other musicians listen in respectful
silence to the famous barking dog solo,
that endless coda that first established
Beethoven as an innovative genius.

"Pit Bulls Don't Cry"

I see the children in the lane
They look like friends, we'll have a game
They've got a stick, oh boy, what fun
They'll throw it for me and I'll run
But someone stops me,
I wonder why their mother screams "Don't go near those"
Horrid Dogs, come here, come close
They're dangerous-I'll tell you why
They bite little children and they die
All I can do is watch and sigh
Cause now I know that Pit Bull's don't cry

Mum cuddles me up and says "My pet
We love you dearly so don't you fret"
But I love everyone out there
Why can't they love me, I do care
I wish they weren't made to pass me by
I'm a Pit Bull, I don't cry

I sit behind my padlocked gate
From early morn til quite late
When I go out it's on a lead
Is mine the only heart to bleed
I'm held in check as the world goes by
I wish the Pit Bull heart could cry

There are some dogs, and also men
Who cannot tell a foe from a friend
So all of us must bear the blame
Expected to live a life of shame
Condemned, alas and we know not why

All we know is we will not cry!

Why own a dog? There's a danger you know,
You can't own just one, for the craving will grow.
There's no doubt they're addictive, wherein lies the danger.
While living with lots, you'll grow poorer and stranger.

One dog is no trouble, and two are so funny.
The third one is easy, the fourth one's a honey.
The fifth one's delightful, the sixth one's a breeze,
You find you can live with a houseful of ease.

So how 'bout another? Would you really dare?
They're really quite easy but, oh, Lord the hair!
With dogs on the sofa and dogs on the bed,
And crates in the kitchen, it's no bother.

They're really no trouble, their manners are great.
What's one more dog and just one more crate?
The sofa is hairy, the windows are crusty,
The floor is all footprints, the furniture dusty.

The housekeeping suffers, but what do you care?
Who minds a few noseprints and a little more hair?
So let's keep a pu ppy, you can always find room,
And a little more time for the dust cloth and broom.

Your folks never visit, few friends come to stay,
Except other "dog folks" who live the same way.
Your lawn has now died, and your shrubs are dead too,
But your weekends are busy, you're off with the crew.

There's dog food and vitamins, training and shots.
And entries and travel and motels which cost lots.
Is it worth it you wonder? Are you caught in a trap?
Then that favorite one comes and climbs in your lap!

untitled by...me...

wasted words
fill up my life
and pains that I still have to face.
shadow men
sing me to sleep
with tunes difficult to shake.
empty souls cry from the deep
their silence cries out
"I need you"
salvation becomes
a dim beacon of hope
because we can't seem to see you.
a heart beats
with the cold epitome of
promises that can't be kept.
you look down
the quiet voice of a lamb
"can't you see you need me?"
quiet words
roaring like a lion.

Did you know?
The figure 8 exercise requires the team to heel in a figure 8 pattern either on or off leash. Generally two of the ring stewards will assist the judge with this exercise by acting as "posts", standing 8 feet apart, that the team walks around to form the loops of the figure 8.
