Hi All
Just wondering if there is anyone with a Sable or White or a Red Tricolour in their kennel or know of any in any "lost" kennels? Really keen on adding these two colours to my kennel with a focus of breeding them. Also, does anyone know what colour combinations when breeding might produce these colours? Thanks Claire |

Hello, I've bred red tricolors before. You just need a tricolor dog and a red dog and you should get some. Red isn't recessive like some other colors. |

Brilliant advice. Thank you - shall try that ?? Sable & whites tend to be the rarity! |

Sable is also a more dominant color. Breeding any sable stud to any parti color bitch could yield sable and white. You have a lovely sable stud and several parti color dogs. This is the exact method I used since I'm also working on color projects in american cocker spaniels. As for genetics: All particolor dogs are SpSp so that will transfer over regardless if your dog is two or tri color. Sable dogs must have kk and at least one copy of Ay. Red bicolor and tricolor dogs also have kk, so you can add them into the mix. Brittania, Oh Na Na, Silver Lining, Maple Lily and Havanna moon and River of Dreams should be your main dams. All are parti color which will give you that SpSp. For Sable breed Eurovision to all these dams, hopefully some sables pop. If they do you can start breeding those dogs to other reds/sable dogs you find. |
