I come from horse sim games but wanting to expand into dog games.
Just wanting to know if this game is still pretty active before I dive deep. Thanks! |

Hi! Maybe not compared to its heyday, but there is still a good community here chugging along. Some shows can still pull in big entries. There are opportunities for growth in a lot of breeds. Do you have a breed in mind? I see you have Dalmatian starter dogs. That breed is currently "perfect" with 10 stats across the board/100 SOP. If you want quality stock to start, I'd recommend reaching out to a breeder: https://www.showdog.com/breeds/dog_breed_directory.aspx?breed=Dalmatian |

Welcome! If you press the Showdog logo on the top left of the screen and scroll down to the bottom, you can see the last 5 log-ins and under it states the amount of active kennels right now (900 and a bit) and then to the left, over 2000 entries in shows last night! I really recommend reading the help files. They are super useful, and people do come on the forums frequently but they're not very active. But if you come with a question, more than likely you will be answered within a day or two. Just as Comet said, some breeds such as the Dalmatian have already been worked on so much that their stats are at 100%! Source dogs are good if you want to create a new line or add new blood into what's already in the game, but bringing those red and orange stats up to blue can take 12 generations or more (each generation is 1 month of time in real life) so people generally prefer to try and buy blood that's already in the game and show/breed from that. Take a look at the Marketplace and Dogs for Sale and if there's no pups for sale in the breed you want, feel free to shoot a couple breeders a message. ![]() I think the game is active enough to still have fun competition or play on your own, whatever you want. |
