I am sessoning my golden retriever bitch in obedience and am getting rather far. I figure it will take me at least 15 more days for her to fully finish seasoning.

1. Can you finish a dog in obedience?

2. Does it matter the age of the dog in obedience?

3. Can any dog show in obedience?

4. Does showing in obedience bump up your kennel prestige?

And Finally, #5. Do dogs get points in obedience?

Well yeah you can get CD, CDX and UD titles. But you cant get their CH (Champion) title.

Dont think so. Somewhere I thought it said even altered animals could be in obedience. Not 100% sure tho.

Yeah, any breed, any color, even starter dogs.

Not for their CH title, no. Only for their CD, CDX and UD titles.

The term "finish" is usually used for conformation. You can title a dog in obedience tho.

2. Does it matter the age of the dog in obedience?

Nope! They can be any age, tho really old ones might die of old age first.

3. Can any dog show in obedience?

Yep! Note that some breeds are smarter than others, and use less sessions. Like you'd spend a lot more sessions and time sessioning up an AmStaff than a corgi.

4. Does showing in obedience bump up your kennel prestige?

Alas, no.

And Finally, #5. Do dogs get points in obedience?

No points like conformation, but kinda. For titles you need three passing scores of 170 or higher (out of 200 possible points) and can't score less than 50% of the possible points in any one exercise.
