It depends what their sessioning numbers are. When condition, muscle, and coat are all at 20, I shift mine over to a Super Duper formula, which keeps everything in top condition but is less expensive for a custom formula. And though I start all my puppies at 1777 for Puppies, I adjust it as their numbers reach 20. In my breed, if I'm fully sessioning them every day, the progression usually goes like this:

1777 for Puppies;
1774 for Puppies (usually around day 10 for me);
1744 for Puppies (usually around day 11);
Super Duper Puppy (usually just for day 13);
Super Duper Adult at day 14

When I can't fully session all dogs every day, I often have an extended 1747 stage when muscle and coat take longer than conditioning.

If you don't want to micromanage feeding and have tons of money, there's no harm in having them all on 1777 formulas throughout their life, but if you're showing at all and have a full kennel, that tends to lead to running out of funds.

Did you know?
In the American Kennel Club, a dog needs 15 points to become a Champion, with each win gaining anywhere from zero to five points depending on the number of dogs competing and the area where the show is held.
