Cadoc Kennels

Welcom to...

Kennel Information
Though I am beginning my own starter line of Soft-Coated Wheaton Terriers, you are apt to find many other breeds here at Cadoc Kennels because I want to stay competitive in the show ring. In addition to beginning my own line Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers, I would like to get to the point where I carry an additional line of Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier show dogs bred by other kennels; so that I can raise competitive animals in my beloved breed.

Sales
I will not sell any dog that is unsettled, that is non-negotiable. However, I am more than happy to accept courteous e-mails to this kennel regarding the holding of certain pups under the settling age of ten days. Once the dog has reached ten days, I will e-mail you telling you that I will accept your bid of the amount previously agreed to, and you have a cut-off date of two days to bid. Should any special, foreseeable circumstances keep you, special arrangements may be made, if and only if, I am informed previously. Please train my dogs, and try hard to finish them, I am trying to build a reputation on the quality of my dogs, and untrained dogs with the Cadoc affix tarnish that reputation. If you have bought from me in the past, and have finished one of my dogs, please do not hesitate to ask me about my Championship Cash Reward (CCR), when purchasing your next Cadoc pup. For any reason if you are unable to keep your Cadoc dog, please offer it to me before you sell or forever home, as if I want it I will either match your offer, or exceed it.

What's in a Name?
The word Cadoc is derived from the Welsh word Cad which translates as battle. It is my surname (My parents came from Wales), and a fitting name for a kennel that raises terriers. In addition, you may have noticed that my middle initial is B. It stands for Bran which is the Welsh word for raven. In fact there is a Welsh legend my mother used to tell me about a man called Bran the Blessed. That is the legend my middle name is in honor of. This plays into to the kennel slogan “Honoring Welsh legends by raising new ones.”

Also, if you wonder about my naming scheme, it is quite simple. Every bit of the name is Welsh. Take, for example one of my source dogs Cadocs Rhian ap Tarddel. All of the names consist of three major parts: the prefix, the name, and its foundation sire. Her name translates as Cadocs Maiden of the Source (Being a source dog she does not have a technical foundation sire to trace back to, so I just used the Welsh word for source.) It’s pretty simple.

Our History and Plans for the Future
Though I am not a new comer to the game, I have taken up a new kennel. My first kennel (est. 6/28/2004) never took flight due to my ignorance, and lack of patience. I used my breeding quickly, and then quickly lost interest. However, this time I am determined to establish my self as a handler.
I have a strong desire to learn the ropes this time, and this resolve took me to premium status as a breeder, which is where my true passion lies, both here and in my real life. I hope to breed my own line from source dogs, and any advice you can give me regarding this would be much appreciated. In addition, I would like to purchase breeding quality dogs so that while I am breeding my own line, I can stay competitive in the show ring.
