Hello and welcome to Illyria Kennels! Here are Illyria, we focus on breeding and showing the best Briards possible. Our goal is to increase the quality of the Briard as a breed, as well as welcoming and encouraging new players to look at Briards as a viable and competitive (and fun!) breed in the game.
What does Illyria stand for, you ask? Well, in classical history, Illyria was a region in the western part of today's Balkan Peninsula inhabited by the tribes and clans of Illyrians. The Illyrians ruled their nation for almost a millenium and were known as both scholars and mighty warriors. Here at Illyria Kennels, we follow in their footsteps; we use intelligence and research in breeding our litters to create the strongest breed possible and we're mighty fighters in the show ring.

Illyria Kennels will only breed to animals we think that will strengthen the Briard breed as a whole. Any dogs that are not premium quality pups at day 11 (meaning, dogs that do not have a desirable trait [like show shine] or are not of finishable quality) will be Forever Homed and not placed up for sale. Any pups that I do sell will be very good showing and/or breeding prospects. No pup will be sold before it settles at Day 10.
If you see a pup that you're interested in, please send me an e-mail! I'll likely be able to reserve it for you, if it settles well. I keep a nice organized waiting list of people interested in my puppies, so as quality puppies are available, they'll go to the people on the list, in order.
I will sell to any account level (Basic/Standard/Family) as long as I feel that the pup will receive an active home. Once you buy the puppy from me, you are free to do with it as you please. Obviously, I would love if you would keep the puppy and attempt to finish it, show it, or breed it, because it will have been a very good little Briard. If you do decide to sell or FH or retire the puppy, I would love the opportunity to buy it back from you before you do so, though.
Illyria Kennels will, on occasion, sell one of our more mature dogs. This dog or bitch might be a breeding-only dog or a showing dog, still. We sell for a variety of different reasons including, but not limited to, a need to diversify bloodlines in the kennel, too many quality dogs to session and show properly, or a dog who isn't doing as well in the show ring as I would like but who still has plenty of ability as a show and breeding dog.

None of my studs require approval at the moment. In the future, only very good studs will require approval to breed to them and that approval will be very easy to get. I do not hold any rights to the puppies you get from a breeding with any of my studs -- show, retire, FH, etc as you please. If you do get any champions, though, I'd love to be kept up to date on the achievements of my studs' offspring.
