KivaVizsla

Edited 5/5/2012: I've been gone a while, and am starting over. I intend to get back into Vizslas here eventually, once I get the feel of the game again and get some stock going once more. Until then, I'm going to be finishing dogs if I can. If you've got a Vizsla that goes back to one of my lines, please, let me know! I'm looking for dogs from mine to pick up from again!

My breed: Vizslas. I am also the Engelhund kennel with German Pinschers, the Jouster kennel with Australian Cattle Dogs and the Faerie Dragon kennel with Redbone Coonhounds.

My thanks: To Jumping Vizslas kennels, to Coniston kennels, to TDK9 kennels -- Thank you very much for the wonderful dogs you've given me to start with!

My selling philosophy: If it's for sale, you can buy it. If you don't want it anymore and it's one I've bred, I appreciate a quick note and a right of first refusal to reacquire the dog, particularly if you are planning on FHing it. If it isn't for sale, you can always offer -- if I'm open to selling when I'm finished with my plan for it, I'll say so, and let you know when I'm done with the dog. I do not sell unborn litters; if the bitch is pregnant when you offer, I'll accept after she drops unless you are willing to make an offer that has a consideration for the entire litter.

My breeding philosophy: I FH the lowest 1/4-1/3 of each litter, I generally keep the best puppy and the best bitch of each litter for my own breeding programs (this means that if the best puppy IS a bitch, I generally only keep one puppy). If you are interested in a litter (particularly if it is a small litter), let me know and I'll hold off on FHing puppies after they settle for a little to let you have a look, and I'll let you know that they've settled.

If you like the look of one of my bitches and you've a dog you'd like to cross with her, let me know -- I'll work with you to come to a satisfactory arrangement. If you don't own the dog, but would be interested in a puppy from one of my bitches and have seen a dog you'd like to see as a sire, let me know -- we may be able to come to an arrangement. If you use one of my studs, I appreciate a note when the litter settles and a chance of first refusal on second choice of the litter. I try to make a policy of doing the same to the sires of my own litters -- I think its only polite, and I think it helps progress the breed.

Champions have a stud fee of $200 as they have proven themselves in the ring. All other studs are $100 (I'm sorry, that's the lowest it will let me go!), and all dogs of age are available for stud. If you'd like to breed to a champion I have, but you find the fee a bit much for your bank, talk to me. We can negotiate and come to an arrangement.

Above all -- this is a game and I'm here to have fun. Breeding is an enjoyable puzzle for me -- I'm always interested in results, whether its a cross I'd make or not.
