Hi, it is the 4th March 2015 and a few days ago I started source breeding Manchester Terriers. I chose this breed as it was the lowest ranked breed with those beautiful breed pics. I have a family account and wanted to share my progress every now and then as a record. I will only breed out if I am breeding a bitch and can't keep the COI low enough, and if that happens I will mention it and only use my own kennels, plan is not to breed out at all if possible.

Bestbritts -
6 bitches (highest SOP 19.85, lowest SOP 3.55)
4 dogs, highest SOP 11.05, lowest SOP 1.55

Low Hie
6 bitches (highest SOP 9.35, lowest SOP 3.5)
4 dogs, highest SOP 14.45, lowest SOP 4.5

Readystep
6 bitches (highest SOP 14.4, lowest SOP 2.85)
4 dogs, highest SOP 11.05, lowest SOP 1.55

Chenlow
6 bitches (highest SOP 11' lowest SOP 2.35)
4 dogs, highest SOP 13.15 lowest SOP 5.3

Brittree
6 bitches (highest SOP 6.65 lowest SOP 2.7)
4 dogs, highest SOP 10, lowest SOP 3.95

As a side note, Manchester Terriers were 2nd last on the breed rankings at 187 when I started a few days ago and have now moved up to 168' I think there is another breeder just starting with source dogs too

I keep 4-5 males around and don't have problems with COI, as long as you keep an eye on it- you should be fine!

What is COI
COI is a percentage in the dogs stats that doesn't ever change. It is from cross breeding in the pedigree, ex. a grandfather and daughter would have a higher COI. I believe after 15% it can negatively affect your dogs show performance! at least in confirmation. There is a help page here:

1st May 2015 - I have been breeding 1 litter most days, most of the improvement in SOPs are an increase in the lowest SOPs. Breeding dogs with something other than 20 or 0 is a rare occurrence even if the source dogs have blue.

I did begin to show and got a show champion title on one dog, a source dog. Others in the breed with good quality dogs started entering their dogs in any show I entered (they could have chosen any of the other show on the day but always came in over the top of me for some easy points) so I stopped showing as it was completely pointless and have started obedience training and have some CD titles.

Anyway these are my current SOPs, every kennel is carrying 13 bitches and 7 dogs

Bestbritts
Bitches - highest SOP 19.85 - lowest SOP 3.55
Dogs - highest SOP 11.05 - lowest SOP 5.10 - 1 CD title

Low hie
Bitches - highest SOP 9.35 - lowest SOP 6.15
Dogs - highest SOP 14.45 - lowest SOP 6.15 - 1 CD title and 1 show champion title

Readystep
Bitches - highest SOP 14.40 - lowest SOP 4.35
Dogs - highest SOP 11.40 - lowest SOP 3.45

Chenlow
Bitches - highest SOP 11.00 - lowest SOP 4.15
Dogs - highest SOP 13.15 - lowest SOP 4.0 - 1 CD title

Brittree
Bitches - highest SOP 8.7 - lowest SOP 3.9
Dogs - highest SOP 10.0 - lowest SOP 3.95 - 1 CD title

It is a breeding score, the higher the number the more inbred it is. Below 15 is the aim
