I was SOPing litters.. Finally. lol... And came across this boy:

www.showdog.com/users/dog_info.aspx?id=7938592

He is Liver Brindle Particolour... Yet I didn't have liverbrindle in this kennel. He is out of a black and Cream parti, and a Gold Brindle parti. I didn't know we could get 'lost' colours just by breeding certain colours.. lol

Congrats!

Liver (aka Chocolate) is recessive so both parents have to carry it.
Brindle is dominant so one parent must have it.

My Idals Kappa Sparky Mug (www.showdog.com/users/dog_info.aspx?name=Idals%20Kappa%20Sparky%20Mug) was a Liver/Chocolate producer, but it only showed up when bred to another dog carrying the gene.

In the colour model this Liver Brindle Particolour makes perfect sense!
Dog is AabbE?kkRr with sisw, spsp, spsw or swsw.
Which means:
Aa = Fawn carries Black & Cream
bb = converts all Black to Liver/Chocolate
E? = Non-Lemon, unknown carrier status
kk = Non-Black
Rr = Brindle, carries Non-Brindle
sisw, spsp, spsw or swsw = Particolour happy :)

Sire is aaBbE?kkrr with sisw, spsp, spsw or swsw.
Which means:
aa = Black & Cream
Bb = Black but carries Liver/Chocolate
E? = Non-Lemon, unknown carrier status
kk = Non-Black
rr = Non-Brindle
sisw, spsp, spsw or swsw = Particolour happy :)

Dam is AaBbEekkR? with sisw, spsp, spsw or swsw.
Which means:
Aa = Fawn carries Black & Cream
Bb = Black but carries Liver/Chocolate
Ee = Non-Lemon but carries Lemon
kk = Non-Black
R? = Brindle, unknown carrier status
sisw, spsp, spsw or swsw = Particolour happy :)

So confusing! Lol. I wonder what other surprises are on the way for me. Maybe I have other carriers of different things I didn't know I had!

I don't think his sire can produce lemon, because he was bred to a lemon female and didn't make any lemon pups...

Okay, so I repeated this breeding, and got two Chocolate Cream Partis! So interesting! Makes me want to repeat again, but I would like to make something to breed back to the liver boy and see if I can pull something different.

Let the games begin!

Don't forget because of my stuff up your Chocolate Cream Parti's are infact Chocolate & Brindled Cream Parti's. happy :) You can get Brindles out of them.

I've got a guaranteed Liver/Chocolate carrier boy Idals Kaunan Striped Light NLP. I didn't realise his grand sire (Idals Kappa Sparky Mug) was a Liver/Chocolate carrier until the pups were born at Risk kennels. happy :)

If you are after some more interesting colours, check out my NLP sale thread *hint hint* 93.6% SOP Black & Cream Pied bitch who could (theoretically) produce solids when bred to Parti's. laugh :D

Did you know?
A specialty show is a dog show which reviews a single breed, unlike other dog shows, particularly conformation shows, which are generally referred to as "all-breed" because they are open to all breeds recognized by the sponsoring kennel club.
