Hi all,

I can not find anywhere where it states how many GCH points a dog needs for each level.
Can someone point me in the direction?

Well, from personal experience I know Bronze needs 100 points and Silver needs 200.

I saw one Gold medal GCH with 252 pts so they must need 250 points for Gold.

Taken from the previous post on GCH:


AKC is:
100 Bronze
200 Silver
400 Gold
800 Platinum

(I'm assuming Showdog will follow AKC guidelines? ...at least for bronze, silver, and platinum?)


Also, when your dog achieves that level of GCH, it may take a few days or so before the award appears on your dogs page. I think I was about 25 points over the Bronze level before I noticed the award on my page.

When you reach 200 points, the forum post says you dog got the silver award, but when you look at the dog's page, it shows gold. Jeff still needs to switch the gold and silver medals around.

I messaged Jeff and he said he was going off of the AKC levels, but was going to adjust things a little.

The ACS forum also got about 10 duplicate posts about the same dog getting his Silver GCH medal. Wasn't mine so it was annoying...LMAO!!

Does anyone have a platinum dog? Its not even possible to get 80p GCH . even if a dog got 5points every single day from the age of 14 days until 120 days you can get more than 530 GCH points (Not including if they have specialties or not it if they don't get 5Ch points every time)

My Lab has been announced every day since 7/26 ... I'm exicted about it, but the system is REALLY HAPPY for me!

He is over 300 points and is still a silver award (showing a gold since they are switched). He only has 14 more days to show, so I don't think we will hit 400 points to see if that's the next medal.
