Right now, these are the bottom 10 breeds on the difficulty list: 179 Polish Lowland Sheepdog-Called by Genesis Kennels 180 American Foxhound-Called by TCrown Kennels 181 Shih Tzu- Called by Turtle Cove Kennels 182 Miniature Poodle-Called by Southern Belles Kennels 183 Finnish Spitz- Called by Amberine 184 Spanish Water Dog-Called by Lancelot 185 American Water Spaniel 186 Lhasa Apso-Called by Faded Shadows 187 Giant Schnauzer-Called by Everdale Goldens 188 Kooikerhondje-Called by Zappo Zoo So how do you win the contest? 1. Call a breed. Post in this thread, telling which breed you want to "sign up" for. Only one person can call each breed. If you participated in the Manxville Bottom 10 Challenge, please wait until Saturday, August 7 to call a breed. I want to make sure that newcomers get a chance to play.  2. Bring the breed up! Do whatever you can to boost that breed's popularity! Start dabbling in it, and encourage your friends to do the same. Learn about the breed so that you can recommend it to new players who'd enjoy it. Turn the breed's forum into a fun place to post! On September 14, 2010, at 5pm US Central Time, I will check to see which breed has moved up the largest number of spots. (By an excellent suggestion, I'm trying six weeks instead of a month this time, so people can start showing their home-bred dogs.) The person who called it will win a no-handlers specialty with added payouts for any breed they choose. A few tips 1. If there are no dogs of your breed listed for sale, e-mail breeders. You can find them in the top kennel listings on the breed page. It can also help to check out who bred the current top dogs of the breed, or who bred the top studs. Not all breeders show, especially in struggling breeds! 2. Ask about the breed on the breed forum. Even if it isn't a busy forum, most breeders respond well to someone new trying out their breed. They can help you figure out what type of sessioning the dog needs most, which colors (if any) are rare, and how you can go about getting good dogs. 3. Don't be afraid to show partly-sessioned! In many of these breeds, there's not a lot of competition. Showing a dog with a 15 or two isn't as silly as you might think! So...who calls which breed? |

For those who might try this...It is very fun, and a great Challenge. and you dont have to be able to breed to win, it is a lot of promoting, and showing, but probably one of the best Ideas I have come across...and it is addicting, I started showing Bergamasco's for this challenge, and now it has become a bigger challenge because I have bred a litter, and am looking to finish those dogs, trying to work my way up to top SOP for the breed. I'm going to go ahead and call Giant Schnauzers. I actually just bred a litter and have started showing a bitch but I noticed that there aren't ANY dogs in the show ring. I would love to get some more people involved in the breed!Everdale |

If I could get some finacial help upfront then I would gladly call the Foxhound for my basic. I only have $120 or so on my basic and am already sessioning/about to show one dog and showing/hopefully selling another so $$$ are limited right now. If I can sell the one dog (terv) then I can replace it with a Foxhound and keep my head above water or if someone wants to donate then that'll work just as well.If you're interested in donating a few $$$ then plz PM me. If I get the PM and donation (on the basic account) then I'll post again on this thread calling the Foxhound if it isn't already taken. Otherwise, just to be clear, the Foxhound is currently still up for grabs. Going to go research it's breed here on SD a little... TCrown |

TCrown, I PMed you This is for a good cause, so is there anybody else who really needs a donation in order to participate? I can spare a couple hundred bucks or more if that's what you need to get started. Only if you honestly need it though. I can't find much else to do with my money anyway since I'm not really active in showing. Woof |

Just make sure you're showing, and try to get other people involved in the breed, and you should see it go up! Or, if you'd like to be in the challenge, you could try showing and advertising a new breed . |
