I will be watching the livestreams, I can't make it out this year but would have loved to been there. I am actually getting a new show puppy at the end of the month and had to save my money for that. Would have been a blast to be there this year though.

It's always tough for me. I lived in NYC in the 70s and would always go, take the subway actually. I would take Mon/Tues off work and spend both days there till the very end. When I moved to NJ I had dogs entered, back before it was only specials. Would drive back and forth each day (got my van towed one year). Got WB one year in Afghan Hounds, that was a thrill. When I moved to Texas I would get a motel room for Tuesday nights so I could watch on their cable (we didn't have it back then). They would replay Monday broadcast then the live Tuesday. It was a 1-person party. Back then I still knew 75% of the people there.

Now, it's so different. No longer at the Garden, no longer Mon/Tues in February, now it just doesn't feel like Westminster. And most of the people I knew are gone. It justs feels sad.

English Cocker? I remember in the 1970s there was this one handler... She had mostly roans. They were amazing.

Honestly, I thought this year was better from a spectator's perspective. There were some changes I didn't like to the indoor rings but overall, a thrilling day. While it was much more crowded than last year, I really appreciate the venue as someone who has done the Garden and the Piers (which was horrible).

Prophets, congrats! What breed?

Llanelli, best of luck to you and your boy tomorrow! I'll be tuning in.

As I was posting my photos, Sage the Mini Poodle took the Non-Sporting group. I think that's a first for me, having seen most of the group winners in a day laugh :D Unfortunately, didn't catch much from the herding group.

I am getting a Standard Poodle pup in June so I get to start from the ground up with my mentor. This will be my first poodle that will be in the show ring and my first mentorship in doing so. I am beyond excited and I will be showing under UKC over AKC right now to to get experience under my belt before I get to far over my head.

Well, a big win tonight for the Poodle people happy :) I remember my first WKC in 2010, a very overwhelming day, but watching Kaz and Walker at the time was really a highlight.

Until next year!

Llanelli, if you have photos, we want to see them! We can help you figure out uploading and posting.

Did you know?
The two largest American dog shows after Westminster are the National Dog Show (which is televised on Thanksgiving Day by NBC, usually after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade) and the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.
