Best Owner Handler went to KBKs Wild Alaska (Siberian Husky) and Best Puppy went to Crush Nancie (Borzoi). Judge Comments: Thanks for the ringside interview, I picked my best in breeds and group winners for the gait of each dog and their coats. I wanted a smooth and powerful looking gait as these dogs enter the ring and then go back around after being stacked. I like seeing how their coats move with their gait and how they do while standing stacked. I like to see the toplines on the dogs as they stand waiting to go around the ring individually. Each breed should have a strong neck and great head carriage with a breed standard expression. KaPri All Breed 1 Entries: 506 Judge: Murray Ingerson Best in show went to a Bi-Black Shetland Sheepdog named Fancy Thistler. This is his second Best in Show win, y’all remember him from yesterday? Best Owner Handled went to CH Krieghund Spiker (Scottish Deerhound) and Best Puppy went to Picardy Hold Fast. Judges Comments: Thanks for the interview, I prefer to pick dogs that have a great head on them, they should have an expression on their faces while going around the ring and have a solid head carriage position. Their gait should be powerful, smooth, and beautiful. Power should come from the hindquarters and when stacked there rear angulation should be relatable to their breed standard. Best owner handled went to GCH KaPri White Lightning (Tibetan Terrier) and Best Puppy went to Hedgerows Cousin Kevin (Flat-Coated Retriever) Judges Comments: Thanks for the interview, I tend to like the bitches in my ring more than the dogs. I like to see some select handlers with the dogs in the ring but I do still like seeing the owner in the ring with their dog as well. I do prefer the breeds that I have judged more but can be led to select other breeds from my normal go to breeds. https://www.showdog.com/shows/show_results.aspx?show=GaylanStudio4%20All-Breed%2024-05-23 Apache Nation All Breed 5 Entries: 477 Judge: Mary Marshall Best in show tonight went to GCH Taymyr No Less The Devil. Best Owner Handled went to CH Phantasm’s Dark Sea (Alaskan Malamute) and Best Puppy went to PooMania Fantasy Fun (Standard Poodle). Judge Comments: I tend to enjoy seeing handlers in the ring with the dogs I judge but I still love the owners coming in as well. I like the breeds I have seen in my ring before and I will still throw in a few breeds that I haven’t had the pleasure of judging before as well. I believe in all dogs having their champion title before they are considered for best of breed. My winners tonight had everything I liked looking at. I like a power and toned front to each dog in the ring. The head should be blanched with a pretty but solid head carriage, a strong chest and clean and sturdy feet. The topline should look nice and their hind end should be under them with great rear angulation. Their coat should flow when moving around the ring and should be clean when standing. They should match their respective breed standards size and height. Gaylandstudio4 All-Breed 24-05-23 Entries: 471 Judge: Maximo Jean Best in show last night went to GCH Aran Wildfire. He is the current #4 Manchester Toy Terrier and #26 Toy. Congratulations to both owner and dog. Fourth in show went to CH Stanergrill Rose Head. She is getting her first group win tonight - congratulations. She is handled by Maret Gentile for owner and breeder Stanergrill. She is the current #17 Border Collie. Congratulations to both owner and dog. The remaining group winners were CH KBKs Lotta Pasta (French Bulldog), CH MtSlvr Fashion Dash (Pointer) and CH Oin of Charmason (Norfolk Terrier). Best Owner Handled went to CH Agamede The Seeker (Manchester Toy Terrier) and Best Puppy went to MVK Mars Ranger (Irish Wolfhound). Judges Comments: I love seeing breeds that haven’t been picked as best in show in recent shows. I do prefer handlers in the ring but I enjoy seeing owners handling their own dogs in the ring as well. I have a slight bias to some breeds that I judge more often but I still have an open mind when it comes to the overall look of the dogs in each group. I want a power hindquarter that brings power into the gait and I want to see each dog match their breed standard size and height. Kenzie - Article/Interviewer |
