Welcome to the result roundup from the biggest dog show in May! We are at the May World Cup show and hoping to see some amazing dogs and get some behind the scenes looks at who is winning the groups today!

First a conversation with the judge before the show! KImmbely Cunningham is the special judge that will be taking the full judging for the final group winners. She has been judging for 8 years almost as an approved judge for the Show Dog association. She had said in her interview that she was looking at each dog and was mainly going to look at how each dog moves around the ring, how free stacks are pictured at the end of the down and back and wants to see a good height on each dog in the finals! I asked her what makes the free stack stand out, she mentioned a strong topline paired nicely with a slick looking neck that holds a great head and head carriage. She also mentioned how a clean and well groomed coat is important in the ring.

The first group that took the ring today was the Sporting group! It was so fun to see each breed come in and have the opportunity to look at everyone in the ring and how each dog dealt with the crowd cheering for them. My personal favorite went to the German Wirehaired Pointer named GCH Detroit Red Bone from 313 Detroit. A kennel I wanted to mention in this group as over 1,000 home-bred Champions and also 250 Grand Champions from those Champions, they are pooh98. The group results were as followed:
Best in group - GCH Dondaig Corach Walker (Gordon Setter)
2nd - GCH Briarstone Cowgirl UD (Irish Red and White Setter)
3rd - GCH AusWolf Mr. Romantic Romeo (Wirehaired Pointing Griffon)
4th - LSC Richard Woytkiw (Irish Setter)

The second group of the night was the Hounds! I was super excited to see them enter the ring and was hoping to see some new faces this month. It had been a while to see the Plott Hounds but knowing that they are back in the show circuit made a nice touch. I was cheering on a Basset Hound named GCH ChappterBlack Sanctioned. I was super excited to hear Picardy had a borzoi in the group ring, they have bred over 1,400 home-bred Champions and over 350 home-bred Grand Champions. The results were as followed:
Best in Group - GCH Alchemy’s Main Stream (Ibizan Hound)
2nd - CH RoseHound Majestic (Saluki)
3rd - CH Redwoods Western Myths (English Foxhound)
4th - CH Picardy Love Thieves (Borzoi)

When the Working breeds took the ring, the crowd went wild! I was excited to see the Belgian breeds and of course my personal favorite breed and one I want to get into, the Gait Schnauzer GCH FSK Long Trip Alone. Front Street Kennels has had some pretty stunning dogs from their kennels in the show circuit. They have 213 home-bred Champions and 67 of those champions went on to win their Grand Champion titles. The results were as followed:
Best in Group - GCH KBKs Junee (Siberian Husky)
2nd - GCH Zimbrel Grey Skies (Caucasian Mountain Dog)
3rd - GCH Carnewf Conch (Newfoundland)
4th - GCH Anakie Enforcer of the Realm (Samoyed)

During the breck we had the opportunity to ask a groomer what they loved about groom day at the show. They mentioned that they usually always had time to get cuddles from each breed but also to see how each breed has a different personality from show and working lines. They had mentioned how they really like doing dog trim competitions with their personal Standard Poodle.
The next group to take the ring was Terriers! I was hoping to see the Airedale Terrier as I had loved them as a kid and being ring side was exciting to see them all go around the ring. I wished CH Steinhaus TBC goodluck in the ring. The breeders that had their dogs in the ring for the terrier have all been amazing! I look up to them while seeing all of their hard work on display to the judge. The results are as followed:
Best in Group - GCH MHs Big $crapy (Jack Russell Terrier)
2nd - CH Kilmerri Gigolo (Rat Terrier)
3rd - Brerfox Guardsman (Wire Fox Terrier)
4th - GCH WNTs Hickory Dickory Dock (Norfolk Terrier)

When the toys entered the ring the stands had all of their eyes on all of the breeds entering the ring then and there. I was excited to the CH Malibu Black Forest as he was from a preservation breeder hoping to bring the Silky Terrier back. I know the crowd's favorite was the Italian Greyhound named CH Intrinsicc Sky Blue Heaven. Here were the group results:
Best in Group - GCH Solcintra2 Fabulosa (Pomeranian)
2nd - GCH Intrinsicc Sky Blue Heaven (Italian Greyhound)
3rd - GCH Waggs Heartland (Yorkshire Terrier)
4th - GCH DMs Cookies and Kreme (Havanese)

Everyone's absolute favorite group was of course the Non-Sporting group! The crowd was really hoping to see either the Miniature Poodle or the Standard Poodle win. A favorite breeder was for sure Aussiewolfsister for the Keeshond dogs. The group results are as followed:
Best in Group - GCH BarStar Thinkin Bout Me (Dalmatian)
2nd - GCH Solcintra2 Bright Stars (Standard Poodle)
3rd - Plus RuffinTuff (Tibetan Spaniel)
4th - Ravenscroft Romanistic Wish (Alaskan Klee Kai)

And of course the final group to take the ring was the herding breeds! I was cheering on all of the Belgian breeds and also the German Shepherd Dog. The crowd's favorite going in was GCH Azurra Claim to Fame the Belgian Tervuren. As always seeing each of the working breeds makes you really understand the history of the breeds. The group results are as followed:
Best in Group - GCH Carnewf MyTee (Pryenean Shepherd)
2nd - GCH Azurra Claim To Fame (Belgian Tervuren)
3rd - GCH Taymyr Black Jewel (Norwegian Buhund)
4th - GCH Point Break Black Jack (Australian Shepherd)

From the group winners we had moved to the finals in the evening. I was so excited to see who the judge would pick for Best in Show and who she would pick as she was wrapping up her podium with. As the dogs came back into the ring and the judge was looking them over once again and had them go around the ring, everyone was on the edge of their seats! The results were…

Best in Show went to GCH KBKs Junee, the Siberian Husky! That makes her third best in Show win! Handled by owner Hamos Hounds today. She is the current #4 Siberian Husky, #4 Working and #8 All Breed. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the huge win today!

Second in show was GCH BarStar Thinkin Bout Me, the Dalmatian. She is bringing home her 14th group ribbon. She is handled by owner Jimbos Pad today. She is the current #2 Dalmatian, #4 Non-Sporting and #1 All Breed. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today.

Third in show was GCH MHs Big$crappy, the Jack Russell Terrier. He is taking his 11th ribbon home today from the big show. Handled by owner and breeder Mountain High. He is the current #1 Jack Russell terrier, #3 Terrier and #2 All Breed. COngratulations to both owner and dog on the big win today!

Fourth in show was GCH Carnewf MyTee, the Pyrenean Shepherd. Making his second Group ribbon brought home today. He was handled by owner and breeder Carolyn. He is the current #1 Pyrenean Shepherd, #18 Herder and #23 All Breed. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today.
