Judges Comments: When looking for a winner today I was looking for dogs to have nicely muscled and toned hindquarters and nicely angulated hind legs. I am also looking for good height and feet placement when the dog is moving around the ring. I also like seeing the owner of the dogs handling their dogs around the ring. Best in show went to Crush Tara, the Black and Tan Borzoi. She is winning her first Best in show ribbon at her second show and making herself closer to becoming a Champion with two of three legs finished. She was handled by her owner and breeder Crush. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Second in show went to GCH point Break Red Rock Canyon, the Belgian Tervuren. This will be her 9th Best in Group win and ribbon to add to her wall in hopes of adding a Best in Show ribbon soon. Handled by her owner The Slough Rovers, they are currently working towards her bronze GCH Title. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Third in the show was CH She Had The Real Zeal, the Gordon Setter. Lake Itasca 94 Entries: 567 Judge: Blanca Taylor Judges Comments: When picking my dogs today I was looking first at who was handling the dogs, I do prefer to see handlers in the ring over the owners of the dog. I then look at the dog and look for the structure of the fore and hind quarters, I am looking for proper angulations and making sure the dogs aren’t too wide or narrow in the chest nor hind. I am also looking at Height and size when the dog moves around the ring. I lastly look at the paw placement when the paws land in the trot and when they stop for a free stack whether they are pointed outwards or inwards. Best in show went to CH On The New Hill, the Black Irish Wolfhound. He is winning his first Best in Group and Best in Show win today. Handled by Roxanne Leatherwood for owner Hamos Hounds. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Second in the show today was Rookwood Tequila Mist, the Bernese Mountain Dog. Winning her second Best in Breed and Best in Group win today. Canmore4 All-Breed 2024-06-05 Entries: 392 Judge: Kristen Wiggs Judges Comments: When looking at the dogs in the ring today I was looking for a dog that had a nice hindquarter and a nice topline, I was looking for the placement of the dog's hind paws when trotting around the ring and when they stood in a stack I was looking for them to have a nice picture frame stack showcasing the breed standard. I wanted to see the topline match and blend into the hind end smoothly and nicely. I like to pick different dog breeds that win every other Best in Show, I want to see some diversity. I do like to see handlers with the dogs in the ring over owners but I still want to see the owners and the dogs bond showcased in the ring as well. I like dogs that are seasoned and know what is expected of them in the ring during a show. I think each dog should have their CH title before they are even considered a candidate for Best in Breed. Best in show went to CH We Will Rave, the Buff Bi-Color American Cocker Spaniel. This is her first Best in Group and Best in SHow win. Handled by Jessa McKinely for owner and exhibitor Ranch JAH. COngratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Second in show was an American Foxhound named GCH Zala Dirty Martini. That will be her second Best in Group win and ribbon to take home. She was handled by Jessa McKinnely for owner and breeder Zodiac Alliance. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Third in show went to a Bearded Collie named GCH Tanami The Lighting Thief. That will be his fifth Best in Group placing and he is hoping for the chase of adding a Best in Show ribbon to his accomplishments. Handled by Jessa McKinnely for owner and breeder Rensvik. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Fourth in show went to CH Caledonia Back to the Future, the Wire-haired Fox Terrier. Thai will be his 5th group placing a ribbon added to his wall. He was handled by Jessa McKinnely for owner and breeder Caledonia to the top. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. FlyingHigh AllBreed 06-05-2024 Entries: 388 Judge: Sandra Grooms Judges Comments: When judging I am looking at the dogs forequarters and looking at the angulation and how the dog is structured in stance at the front. I am additionally looking for good height and size on each dog and their coats as they are moving around the ring. I do have a slight preference for bitches over the dog in the ring but I am not overt to pulling a dog for breed or group winners. I have no preference on breeders in the winner's circle at all. Best in show went to CH HP Packed With Rage, the Borzoi. Making this his third Best in Show win at 41 days old! Handled by Roxanne Leatherwood for owner Ranch JAH, as they get closer to getting him over the half way marker to his GCH title. Second in the show today was GCH Solcintra Franklins Tower, the Gordon Setter. That will be his 20th Bets in Group placing! He was handled by Roxanne Leatherwood for owner and breeder Solcintra Kennels and they are pushing for his Silver GCH title! Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Third in the show today went to GCH Diode Crucial information, the Siberian Husky. That will be his second Best in Group placing and something he will be bragging about. Handled by Roxanne Leatherwood for owner and breeder Hurricos. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Fourth in show went to a Cardigan Welsh Corgi named CH Lanakila BlameItAllOnMyRoots. Making today his first Best in Group placing and getting him closer to finishing his third leg for his Grand Champion title. Handled by Roxanne Leatherwood for owner and breeder Lanakila Corgis. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. The Best Owner Handled was LSC Richard Woytkiw (Irish Setter) and Best Puppy went to IchaIcha Pochita Hoax (Borzoi). Down Under All Breed 52 Entries: 371 Judge: Travis Hunter Judges Comments: When I am picking my BIS candidates I am looking for dogs that haven’t won every other BIS previously. I think dogs should be judged off of their breed standards by each class and pick the best of each breed to be the best in breed winners. When I am judging each class I am looking at the coat mainly, I want to see the coats clean and have a history of regular maintenance. I am looking at the dogs as they go around the ring and I am looking at how the coats move with the dog and give the dog a complementary flowy and elegant feel. Best in show went to CH Parhelion Cruel Winter, the White and Black Dalmatian. He is taking home his second Best in Group and Best in Show win and ribbons home today. Handled by Jessa McKinnely for owner and exhibitor Jimbs Pad. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Second in show was CH Diode Mixed Signals, the Gray Newfoundland. That will be her 7th Best in Group win and anythor ribbon added to the wall while she awaits for Best in Show ribbon. She was handled by Jessa McKinnely for owner and breeder Hurricos. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Third in show went to GCH Andy’s Light Up Glory Road, the Sealyham Terrier. This will be his 3rd Best in Group placing and he is happy to take another group placing any day. He was handled by Jessa McKinnely for owner and exhibitor Sansouci. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. Fourth in show went to GCH Red Queen of Legends, the Belgian Laekenois. Making that her second Best in Group win and another ribbon to add to her wall of achievements. Handled by Jessa McKinnely for owner and breeder Legends of Light Belgians. Congratulations to both owner and dog on the win today. The remaining group winners are CH Sabueso By The Numbers (Ibizan Hound), CH Tip Toe There (English Setter) and CH Diode Mage (Papillon). The Best Owner Handled was Kilhey Crazylegs Crane (Sealyham Terrier) and Best Puppy went to MtSlvr Time Zone (Gordon Setter). |
