Hello! I myself don't breed dogs in real life but would like to eventually, as I continue to learn and research. Just for fun, I love to read about people's breeding programs/kennels and how/why they do things. I think it's important for fellow fanciers and people who share a similar passion to gather and feel a sense of community with each other.

If you would like to share, please do! You don't have to share any identifying factors such as kennel name--only if you want to/feel comfortable! Some questions for inspiration--share only as much as you want!

1. What breed(s) are you in?
2. Any breeds you'd like to be in or thinking of joining?
3. What got you into the breed?

4. Tell me about your foundation female/male.
5. Tell me about why you kept back who you kept back from litter 1.

6. What got you into showing/conformation (if applicable)?
7. What got you into sports (if applicable)?
8. What's one primary thing you want to better in your breed?
9. Give me 3 things that stand out in your breed compared to others?

10. What's your least favorite part of being a breeder?
11. Why does this breed suit you and your lifestyle?
12. What's something about your breed you don't like?
13. Is there something important for someone interested in the breed to know?
14. What are some challenges you have experienced being a breeder in your part of the world?

15. If you had 4 pups in a litter of which you could only keep 1, and all were of good overall type and personality, which of the following would be a deciding factor between the 4?
- one has the best rear angulation
- one has the best front assembly
- one has the best head
- one has a preferred color

16. (If applicable) For your next litter with an outside stud, what specifically will you look for in that stud?

17. If you have a stud available, what may be a few of the reasons to decline an application from a female owner?

18. What is the most prominent thing you have learned in your breeding program that you didn't know or think before you started?

Bonus: We'd love to see pics if you want to share!
(I use postimg.io for image hosting, or a link to a public photo folder is good too.)

This is meant to be fun and interesting! Try to keep your replies to others respectful.

I look forward to reading what everyone has to say.

Reina
